Title: Overgrowth
Post by: Sunpaw on September 05, 2012, 01:31:07 am
I was actually searching for some Feral Heart stuff to download when I came across this game. Some fan art caught my attention, and when I went to investigate, I then learned that the same people that made the game "Lugaru" had been working on a sequel to it. Independent game developers at Wolfire Games are currently working on their newest game, called "Overgrowth" which takes place where "Lugaru" left off. I was surprised to see how much they had improved on animation, graphics, gameplay, so much more. Basically you play as an anthropomorphic rabbit.

You can fight enemies, edit the colors of characters and objects, create and share custom maps, and play around with several other tools in game to edit things. Every week a team of four people, who design, code, and animate the game, show the changes made to it. I don't know about you guys, but one of my favorite ways to pass the time is listening to intelligent people ramble on and on about how much work goes into making games, artwork, coding, and how it all comes together. I love it when you have a small team of dedicated, creative people working together to create art in the form of a game. The game and its designers, have received much praise for the complex combat system, AI, and time put into the creation of "Overgrowth". It still has some glitches, needs work done on it, and it may take a long time before the game is complete. I heard they are going to make it multiplayer, also.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I have little spazzes of joy when I see anthro animals in games, and it's definitely something different from all the other games I have seen. In case anyone is wondering, you can play the game right now, it's just that the game isn't complete.

-EDIT- FFffffuuuuuuu, I thought I did it right when I put the videos there. >:U

Oh yeah I have heard of this game and seen some videos of it just a couple months ago ^_^ This game looks very awesome and even has a comic to go with it. I definately plan on becoming a member on this site especially when you see how much work and fine detail is put into the game and the character's expressions and interractions.
Here's the offcial site for anyone who is interested. I must say though it's not a free game for anyone who is looking for a free game.

Aye, I pre-ordered this game a while ago in its initial stages, and I've been following the updates ever since. I'm highly anticipating the final release, and it's cool to see that other people here know about it as well. :)
