SOOO, I'm reaching out to ALL of you Okami fans out there! I believe the English game release date for Okamiden is March 15th. I've already beaten the Japanese version of the game back in January, cause I speak Japanese and didn't wanna wait since I fell in love with Okami. xD Okamiden was such a cute game. <33
So, anyone else here ever heard of, or played Okami? And anyone else waiting for Okamiden's release? Any thoughts on it? Post 'em here! (I also may make a Spyro thread.. see what people are thinking of Skylanders...)

Oh! I <333333 Okami! I swear it is the best game I have ever played, and I've played quite a few games x3 I've beaten Okami... Four times, I think xD And I still haven't gotton all the beads. Waiting for Okamiden, though I don't think it will as good as Okami. But oh well. Dosn't stop me from buying it xDDD

I play okami whenever i touch my PS2 and I fumed when I heard Okamiden wasn't coming out on PS2....

There is. On the cover it has the rated T for teen :(. Look on the website and you'll see at the bottom a box that explains why its rated T

That's sad. Okami is more of a master piece than a game imo.
Okami's plot is summed uo in the beginning of Okamiden, though. I already have the English version, even though I've already beaten the Japanese version of the game. xD

Oddly enough, I've seen more about this game some many months ago than I have now that it's got an English Release Date... Huh.

I just got Okamiden in the mail. It's pretty good. And my mom says that if Okami (wii) is good and it's "not too much", she'll let me play it! :D But one thing about Okamiden is that there are these evil floating open boxes with this long list of paper coming out and it has spots of..nvm. Sometimes when I'm going around a corner the evil floating suitcase things just POP out. Gahhh scares me everytime. I don't think they should have put those things in a 10+ rated game -_-.

Tbh, I think Okamiden is more rated T than E. Cause you still have the blood from Okami, just not as much. And it has a little bit of language. Some of the new brush gods are adorable though. <3333
Oh, haha, and those floating pieces of paper are Demon Scrolls. You can power slash them and they'll "die." ;P
But yeah.. Okamiden is cute, but will never match up to Okami's perfection imo.

Yes it does. I didn't notice the first time I played it though xD If you look at some of the scrolls carefully, you can see red everywhere on some. So, yes it does have some blood. And yay! I'm playing Okamiden ^^ It's not as awesome as Okami but it's still a good game, though I feel it's been 'tuned down' as I find no blood, so far xD And now I feel that there just making stuff up instead of basing most stuff on japanese myths. But idk lol.

Ohh, there's blood. You just need to get to Orochi.
And btw, yes, Okami had blood. It looked like fire, though. Remember all the "fire" from Orochi in Okami? Yeah, that was blood.
And I just beat Okamiden's English version, so good with the emotional endings... ;w;
Great game, but no where near as great as Okami was imo.
*Oh, and, yes. xD I think they made up most of the characters in Okamiden, as I see them no where in Shinto mythology. And I would know.. I'm Japanese, and I've studied Shinto forever. ;P*

I got an Okamiden ROM, so far I'm finding it rreeeeally boring. I mean, I haven't played Okami before and I was hoping it would be more exciting. But I'm only at the beginning so I suppose it will get better. But it's just so slow paced! Argh! And it annoys me how you can't speed up the character's speech in cut scenes. It would be better if the cut scenes were voice acted as well.
Still waiting for the game to get more interesting, right now it feels very slow and childish xD

Heh. xD Yeah, the chat speak in cutscenes annoys me too, and the thing is with the voice acting, in Okami, they didn't have it either. But in Okami, the peoples' head bobbed up and down while they spoke.. I kinda miss that LOL. It was entertaining, I always laughed at the people bobbing their heads when they talk. And actually, my friend and I were considering taking the cutscenes from Okamiden and voice acting them, then putting them on Youtube loooooool.
The overall gameplay of Okamiden was pretty nice to me, the bosses.. could be dealt with a bit, and there were a few parts in the game that drove me insane. xD But the game overall got like, an 8.5 out of 10. It was better than I thought it would be.

Still working on okamiden atm.
I find okamiden entertaining, It's actually a really good game. xD

Oh no... You have to kill Orochi AGAIN? Lol. Oh, right, I forgot about the "fire" blood xD I'mma at the part with... The blond dude that calls you "dude" all the time (Can't remember the name) sooo... I'm not sure how far I am xDDD Probably not very far ;P

@Venom: Kurow. xD I guess you're kinda far, you've got ways to go though. ;P
And you don't much "kill" Orochi, you don't battle him. (Haha, sorry to spoil it, but you don't.) But the sites of Orochi's death is of major importance to the game, and you'll find out why later... ;P

I've started again on Okami, playing with the weapons when they're eqipped but I still have the combo moves and I was wondering why I was knocking the daylights out of monsters likethere was no tomorrow. Also practising with brush techniques more.
2nd fight with Waka though, got imaptient, upgraded everything, defense, attack, vengance slips the whole lot and just kicked his high-heeling half bit booty

IloveUshiwakamaru. <333 (That's his name in the original Shinto mythology btw LOL. I like it better than just plain "Waka". ;P) He was always one of my favorite characters. (But Shiranui tops them all easily.)

Lol xDDD I wanted to kill Yami sooooo bad after that xDDD But I really hate it when Yami turns into that blue...Thing. Lol. Can't remember the word xD Where you have to use the mist to slow down the little picture thingys and then slash him, that's one of the parts that was sooooo hard! Even though Yami is hard at all parts ;P

Omg. I loved his slot machine form. That had to be one of my favorite forms. xD I hated the Yellow form.. where you get Thunderstorm back.
Yami's final form: ELKHJSXFKJHSDIHSDKJFHLKSADJLKASD <33333333333 I luuuuuuuuuurv that one the most. xD Not only do you get to be Epicwolf, I show like, no mercy... I always kill him on the first Sunrise LOL. And I don't even use the String of Beads on boss fights, I use them throughout the normal game though... collecting all 100 Stray Beads was worth it. ;P

Why doesn't Amaterasu appear in my top 3??? I love ammy so much, but somehow these three beat her to the top... Oh well. *Runs off with her top 3 characters after sleep deprived rant thing*

Lol Pitt, I am too. I can win any fight in Okami without the beads immortality and not lose one Solar Energy unit. Glaives are my weapon of choice. ;3

Same, Gem :3 For me, I love the beads. I mean, once you have all the combo moves that you get taught much later in the game, you can win any fight :D

Yep! But beads are fun. Every time I use them in a fight I sit there and get attacked for a bit and be all, "Hahaha. I'm invincible. You can't win." xD

Mehz got Okami and I <333333333333333333333 it. I bought it to :D. But I'm stuck on teh part with the new moon and I have to meet that Rao person at the ship and I'm making it night and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong :(

Aha, make it night once you get on the Moon platform in Ryoshima Coast, it's near the beginning. There will be a space with a huge structure at the end. (Not that hard to see, you have to have Double-Jump to make it.) And then you lillypad to the ship, and go into the portal.
I loved the ship. Killing the green hands once you drain the place is my favorite part. 8D Even though it's not necessary, I do it for fun, and to get Praise.

I..am..scarred...for life. When that ghost girl creepy thing comes up to the screen I'm like "HOLY WAKAMOLIE SOMEONE CALL 911!!!!!". I am NEVER going back to that ship again -shudders-.

Omg, I'm scared of that part too lol. I was like, "Ahhh! Holy flippin'! GET THIS THING OFF!" All while randomly power slashing the Spider Queen's ghost face xDD And those hands... I got soooo freaked out the first time I was them xD Ah, Rao... One of my fave parts of the game... Sooo awesome yet creepy xD

Such a scary part of the game, the ship! I try and get through it as quickly as possible.
I didn't know you could kill the green hands oO
Oh and those ghosts....wtf is that? Its like "oO RAPE!" My sweet god...
My best mate kindly pointed out that you could make passionate love quite happily to the music that accompanies Rao...I kindly back-handed her around the face, paused the game, threw up in the bin and came back and completed it...with a deadpan expression.

How could you love the ship? When that ghost fire Orochi head came up I was like "HOLY COW I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONE!?" I hate teh ghosty parts :'(. The green hands mock me >:(

I think it's boring at times. But then I keep playing because those cutscenes are so darn cute~! xD It's still a good game, though x3 And yeah... Spider Queen is creeeeeeeepy xD But I kinda like Orochi x3 Idk... He's just awesome, ok? xDDD

Yeah, I only used them when I had to, or when I was being impatient and wanted my stray bead/gimmick gear and rapidly changed day and night. xD

Just finished the Moon Cave/Orochi level before the Kamiki Village celebration and I was damn pleased with how I finished that :3

I like the part of the plot where you spend time with Manpuku the best on Okamiden.
It was a good makeup for not being able to go to Taka Pass or Kamui 8|

Oh, I've found something out on Okami.
You know the Life Beads Rosary? Does anyone find that they are "heavier" to use than the others?

In a way they are, but that could just be the timing of combos. :U It could make them seem like they're heavier.

Glavies, being my weapon of choice, I'm a master with those things. xD Thunder Edge + Eighth Wonder combo is pure win when you can manipulate both to your liking.
And yeah, it depends on how you use it. Beads.. I don't use much. I hate the beads tbh. xD But hey, it depends on combo timing pretty much.

I love rapid firing, that's the only reason I ever use beads. xD Although bead combos are awesome, I've found that out of all combos, I can manipulate glaives best. ;P

Glaives work too slow for me and I'm not used to using them. :U I like reflectors personally.
Rapid fire beads ftw.
Something that bugs me is the inability to sell golden dust and gold peaches. 8| I don't really need them because I use the brush more than I use combos. > >

Anytime I buy Golden Dust, I end up using it.
I don't need it though, seeing as I have all 100 Stray Beads. xD

Im not sure that Gold Dust even works or has eny effect once you learn all combos....does it?

Gold Dust just up's weapon power. Makes them stronger. Has not effect on combos really.
And I know that. xD I've always known that. ;P I just wish you were able to keep the final 3 weapons. >w> Cause I'm not wasting 500k yen every new game just to buy Tundra Beads. e3e I'd rather you buy them once and they stick.

Ugh I still need to get okamiden, but I've beat Okami 3 times and played about 95 hours in total, not going to crazy, right? ;D

Okamiden was fun, but no where near as amazing as Okami was.

I dun really know why I like Orochi lolz. I don't even know how he got up there XD. He is still my top favorite character though ;D

I LOVE Okami! <3 I don't think I'll buy Okamiden, since it won't have Ammy & Oki in it (Imma die hard fun for Ammy & Oki pairing <3). My fav char are: Amaterasu, Oki, Shiranui, Ninetails (she's amazing!)..and that's all. My fav brush tecniques are Inferno, Galestorm, Cherry Bomb, Crescent..and don't remember any, haven't played Okami in a while, had to stop 'cause of school. Anyway the only weapons I usually use are Ammy's original weapon and the one she gets after getting all the brush tecniques. XD
