Hello everyone! Some of you may remember me from before I fell off the grid for a while. Life got to me and I just had to take a step back and focus on my schooling and work. Introduction / Emerged from the Upside Down... what year is it?

Hello, everyone. I'm not sure how many people have come and gone and I feel like I've been asleep for about ten thousand years, but you may call me Enoki or Eno for short. I'm an old fart player who's been around this proverbial block for some time. You would normally see me on a green antlered fungus with wings talking in an Old English accent. I'm very much invested in fantasy roleplays, with sci-fi also being close to my heart. I am an avid writer and artist, who's currently in college getting her Graphic Design degree, hoping to someday get into the entertainment industry, using my skills to bring to life inspired creations.

I disappeared off the face of the earth a little back ago, and I'm not sure I intentioned for it to be such a long absence or not. I've been lurking around the Discord for some time and after being pinged 8 times in a row I was awakened like a "Bloody Mary" in a middle school bathroom. I may not be as active as I once used to be, a side effect of aging and becoming an adult with a job and college mashugana.

Anyways, feel free to say hi, or an offer to roleplay if you see me lurking in game. I'd be ecstatic to be included in the daily activities of the realms.

I don't do a lot of poetry, but 'tis fun when I 'ave the time.

The Dragon Oak

A whistle and holler to my lovely caller,
Who dances in the shade of the Dragon Oaks' dome.
Her beauty persuades and calls me to roam,
In the great golden presence of the Dragon Oaks' song.

The leaves chant and sway in the wind as they b'long,
Rustling their cheery chorus all day long.
O, how I cannot fathom her grace, poise so elegant.
While others attempt to court her, I simply just can't.

To try and tame one so strong and free,
Is to try and restrain each great golden tree.
That is why I sit, under the shade I be,
To watch her sing and dance and be like the Dragon Oak tree.

I thought that title would be a little more convincing than "Creature Compendium Contest" since no one probably has a clue what that is. Haha. . . Ahem.

Welcome one and all! Creature designers and extraordinaires, creative geniuses and artists, come to compete in ChroniclesOfYugure's first contest! Here we will explore your minds and expand our creative juices. Here, we will make creature-designing history! Bring in the tiffany drums!




What goes into making a species? A lot of time and planning, out course, and a wee pinch of creativity. But what goes into making a Yugurian species? Well, you will have to know that to compete in this little contest, because the winner will have their species intricate into the next Gaggle, along with their choice of some other neat prizes! Let's look at the guidelines.

1. The design must appear realistic (not to the point of bland, everyday animals, but a moderate amount of realism) and be explained by some form of logic.
If your creature is a stone golem that has floating appendages, how and why is this possible? How does a creature made of stone live and function? Is a stone creature really possible, or is there some smaller creature living inside the stones, allowing it to thrive?
2. Any abilities the creature possesses must, once again, be explained by science or some form of logic. See the pattern starting here?
If your creature can breathe fire, how do they not burn their tongue? Where does the fire come from? If your creature can conduct lightning, how does the process work?
3. Creatures of Yugure have no magic! So please no magical backgrounds, unless however, it is merely a cultural viewpoint of the species and can still be explained by science/logic.
If your creature believes that their ability to ignite themselves is magic but in all reality is just friction between molecules causing excess heat and then ignition then this is fine.
4. Get creative! I want to see you go to the very depths of your creative pool to discover things you would have never thought to make. The more creative and interesting the species is, the more likely the creature will be picked as the winner! I'm looking for some real creativity here.
5. For later contests, you may use a previous entry if that entry had not placed. If you had won the previous contest, please be polite and let others get the chance to win.




Prizes

1st Place: Have their creature design drawn by Enoki and placed in the next Gaggle; may create their own private mutation for their species for they alone to use; one full ticket to spend or save for skin or mutation/sub-species packs, or a Fabled Class species.

2nd Place: Two ticket pieces and a headshot drawn of one of their Yugure characters or a custom adopt of one of the present Gaggle species.

3rd Place: One ticket piece and whichever option that the 2nd place winner did not choose.

Three ticket pieces create a whole ticket.


How to enter: Share this journal with your dA friends and give a comment on the dA journal (link posted below)! You must be a member and/or watcher of the dA group, ChroniclesOfYugure. You may either PM me EnokiGryphoclaw or comment your entry under your first post.

Finished Maps / Yugure- 12 Map Universe (Video)

Sorry f'er the terrible resolution. I 'ave no clue what happened, but I finally got the audio to work on Livestream, so I am not going to complain. (Can't seem to upload the video directly.)

Some mesh files are messed up, and therefore missing. Waterfalls, green mushrooms, and a volcano are so far the only victims I've noticed.
Oashisu's Scorn, the desert map, is under maintenance and looks a bit off.
Snow texture in Third Realm is not the original one used.
Other than that, things should look normal.

~I do not own any of the meshes or music used in the map pack.
