Updates for December

New month now, and so it's time for the monthly news thread to get posted.
Hopefully someone here will find it interesting and useful.

Board changes
There's been quite the talk about the creations section of the forum when it comes to finding maps.
Users might get annoyed at times when it comes to just find finished public maps for everyone to use, however, we've created a board for you so finding maps should be more easier in the future.

Instead of having 1 map section and one request map section, we now also have a "Finished maps" section. In this section there will ONLY be finished maps and nothing else. The map boards still stay the same, but when users finish maps from now on you will be guided to either post/move it here.

Mods might move around your mapthreads if they feel the need for it between these section, but the main idea is really to make it easier for the majority of users to look for finished maps and know where to look. Hopefully this is a welcomed change.

Before we move on I should also mention that yet another Post Rank has been added on the forum under the name "Elder Member", but also the required posts for Legendery member has also been doubled.

Of course we have a new MOTM for this month as well, and this time it was our Sameth who brought home the votes so big congrats! Contact me via PM Sameth for your ribbon.

Events & kewl sturf
If you guys haven't noticed yet we just fired up a contest here on the forum!

We brought back the Banner contest that we had another time a few months ago which many enjoyed. The rules and layout are rather similar as last time around and I'm sure it's not that hard to give it a try. The best entries of the contest will have a chance to get shown on the banner for the upcoming months for everyone to see.

I'm still in shock about Member of the Month...

Also, the winners for the Preset contest were supposed to be announced today as well. I know the day is not over, and sometimes these things take time, but I'd like to just bring it up anyways that a Preset contest did happen, XD

I spose you mean pic in the "end" as in signature. And I'd suggest you to make a help thread about it and explain what you need help with and help will come quick enough, or you can PM one of the mods or possibly even members of this community for help.

You're also able to edit posts by clicking the "modify" button in the corner to avoid double posting.

Kovu is becoming a little quiet these days. There are some news about the game about wings and hunting, but I cannot classify it.

Also, I'm sure the staff works hard to present these updates for you, I know you didn't mean it in a demeaning way, but just remember that we are fortunate enough to hear about the forum and game. C:

You haven't been keeping up with the times have you? It was announced like 3 months ago that wings and hunting is being added.

Actually, we don't get to hear much about the game...FH+ hit the forum out of nowhere. There were announcements on DA and Facebook, but it sucks that the OFFICIAL forum staff, on the OFFICIAL site don't get told anything about the game.

I think that those of us on the forum deserve to know first. We support the official site by being here, in several ways too. We can't even sign up without getting given a forum account. This should be the first place to look for updates, nowhere else. For all we know wings are getting released later today and everyone on FB and DA know, but we won't even get told there is a patch until it's been up a week and people are asking us to help them deal with the numerous glitches involved.

Ung....

But we do get very well-done forum updates that summarizes everything very nicely. I look forward to them, it reminds us that this place is very much alive.

Sure there have been no updates on the game in awhile, but I'd like to think it is because the next update will be huge, and Kovu is so busy working on it he hasn't had any time at all to tell everyone...yeah....totally....

Same here, it's impossible to log onto Fluorite, unless you create a new character. It must be the server that's getting fixed, something like that?

And also i cant update my game. It keeps writing: please dowload the latest patch. I downloaded!! and fixed. but i still cant play :C this message appears again and again..

We were not informed about this new patch and that it was going to be put up today, so we excuse for this.

I have just checked up on the game for a couple of minutes so I cannot say much. But I think some sort of changes as been done when it comes to other glitches that used to exist, which ones that actually are worked on I'm not sure though.

Many users seem to have problem getting into the game and that they need the new patch and I have a few words of advice that got mine to work.

I don't know about the patch, But download the actual game installer this time and install it over the old FH, just make sure you make copies of the things you want to keep.

2nd thing is that after you've installed, run the new FH shortcut on your desktop. I tried running FH through the start menu one and it did not work, however, when I used the "new" desktop shortcut the game made it worked and I managed to get into flourite.

I heard some issues about bonfire though, that it crashes alot, also that you cannot connect with some older chars and that you must make a new one, though I cannot confirm these ones at this time.

Hopefully you will be able to get the game working.

does anyone wanna help me figure out why the patch doesnt do anything and now fh nor fh+ torrent and regular download dont work at all.. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything a few times over, ive tried running the patch about 30 times now and still nothing.. i keep getting the ogre exception on the regular fh and on fh+ im getting it telling me that i need to to install the patch evern though i have like 30 times.. ugh.. i just stared last night and i love this game.. please help.. id hate to abandon a game like this :l

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having the "patch" problem. No matter what I do, I keep getting errors or told to "download the latest patch" and nothing has worked...including downloading the latest patch. Since I'm not the only one having this problem, I'm going to assume the server is having problems and things will (hopefully) be fixed soon. I just got back to playing Feralheart, and it's been a great stress relief for a bunch of horrible things going on in my life! I don't want to be told I can't play it anymore because of some patch error. :(

i got in :0! okay.. what i did was delete any instance or data at all linked to feralheart (game, patch, folders, downloads, setup etc etc..) and then after 100% of  FH anything was gone i redownloaded the game via the regular non-torrent download and it worked.. im logged in now and playin :3 good luck try this.. if it still doesnt work.. then i dunno sorry -;-......;

It worked for me! ^_^ Fantastic! I don't know if it is because I deleted all the FH info I could find on my computer before installing the regular download or because the bugs got fixed before I tried it or what, but I didn't get asked to download the patch! Yay! -runs off to go play-

The patch is not anything new as far as I can tell.

I have not gotten any real information of what were done with it. But this should include actual in game fixes and not sparkles and content.

We will try to let you know if we know for certain what were done.

umm im confused..i have two questions..will there be hunting and acsessories? and second...i has downloaded the patch and i played but then..now it says,when i TRY to log in it says..''cannot log into map server'' please help D:

Try another character since the map server error usually means that the map process is stuck. You can always try again later if it were the server, but if it gives you the same message the server probably needs a restart, and you should use another character.

And no, this is not update with content, as mentioned earlier, this is for in game fixes and glitches as far as I know.

Also keep in mind, this is the news section, not the help board.

You can, you just skipped reading which is in fact required on a site like this xD

There's the download section for you.  Download the patcher if you already have the game installed, download the game setup if you don't have anything.

kinda the same problem again but all i need to know is which one to download now
