Part 1. - Because if you hadn't all noticed already there's a lot going on and I expect there will be several updates this month.
First thing to note is No mod October is off. Yep, I found some staff to fill the void (with great help from returning moderator Ressy). Hopefully they will all say hi after this post.
Redlinelies has stepped back up into a staff training role. He trained pretty much all the staff even on an indirect basis since shortly after FeralHeart Began.
Secondly I have been talking to around 20 odd members from here. Some of you were aware of a hidden thread called "hmm".
I'm very aware its content has been leaking out to the world. This thread has now been locked and published now in News.
Sometimes it's just easier to talk to a few people than to try and respond to everyone.
Now not only do we have new staff but the way the staff operate is about to change.
As of the next Member of the Seasons selections. A proposal that I made to the staff back in February 2017 called the "MOTS Proposal" is being implemented.
This proposal never passed simply because I could never get all the staff members into a unanimous agreement.
I felt it was unfair to force such a radical change to how we operate upon them.

MOTS Proposal

Most of you know Members of The Season(hereby known as MOTS) are selected by you, the community, as examples of the best members you have to offer and for their deeds to be seen by everyone.
Being that these members represent the community, we, the staff would like to invite them to join us in the staff room.
MOTS will be able to see what is happening regarding the game, join in discussions, meetings and have a voice to propose and vote on current affairs.
- MOTS access will not be limitless. MOTS will not have access to MIT(Mod in Training) selections as it's not uncommon for MOTS to be discussed for MIT positions.
- MOTS will not have direct access to reports from users.
- The final thing MOTS will not have access to is the historical archive of the staff room. We believe it's unfair on previous staff who would probably never have anticipated this change to have their posts suddenly under public scrutiny. But all posts from this point unless under the two categories above will be available to them.
Now to make clear the MOTS new status. They are here to create more transparency between the staff and you the community. If a MOTS feels we are not doing our job they can pull us up on it. But if we find a MOTS simply spewing information from the staff for the purposes of popularity or other reasons not beneficial to the community, they will be removed from their post (This will be discussed with the other MOTS at the time). MOTS will not be receiving moderator powers. MOTS are here to bring your ideas and opinions directly to us.
To be eligible for MOTS you cannot have a total ban time longer than two weeks in the last two years. For example if you have had three, five day bans the last eighteen months you cannot be eligible until the first ban elapses over the two year mark. We do check the other accounts you have as well. If we find any MOTS is receiving repeat votes from multiple accounts of the same person they will no longer be eligible for that period. A currently elected MOTS cannot be eligible for a second term in a row. But they can be re-elected every other term without limit.

Regarding the "patch" certain aspects are ready for release and will be out shortly. I've had a lot to juggle the past month.
I'm hoping to get you a release in the next couple of weeks. Certainly before the end of this month.
Personally I think I'm better for getting it out there than just telling you about it so please be patient.
As for the now ex-staff. I have been in more communication with them in the last week than the last year probably.
I expect in Part 2 we will probably have a joint post explaining what went on. But for the time being my priority is moving forward. Gap filling can happen later.

Hello fluffs.
There's been a lot of confusion lately surrounding things, and we hope to clear things up as smoothly as we can.
Some of you may recognize me from my prime time around here back in 2016. It's nice to see so many friendly faces once again, and to be helping this place stay a tidy and fun experience for everyone, both old and new.
There are some big shoes to fill, but are going to try to keep everything up to par for all of you, and as it was said, the old staff didn't give up, so we won't either.
I know there still might be some confusion, and I hope things will become clear in the near future. The community here means too much for things to just be allowed to continue in a fog of uncertainty. You deserve better then this, and we hope to deliver.

Hey guys, sorry for all the secrecy surrounding everything! I presume many of you know who I am, maybe some of you don't--feral heart has and always will be an important part of my life, which is the main reason why I wanted to give back to the community, why we wanted to give back.

Hey guys! Jesse here. Of course, some of you know me from around Grounds and here.
As been stated before, I understand things have been said and done, and likely ruined the community for the time being. The others have their own opinions on these, so I’ll stick to mine here.
As of now, my reason of stepping up was to help rebuild, and make the community a better place once again. I have no reason beyond helping to support why I answered into this. The few weeks have done some rabid scarring to the forum, game, and members themselves, like those who left, and the former staff before us. We want a new start for you all, to right the ‘wrongs’ that have occurred.
For one, I’d love that you, the members, please try to support us after all that’s happened, and to stop targeting the former staff, and especially Razmirz himself. What was announced is done and over with. It was called off. It’d make me, a member who wants things to change, happy that the community can agree and accept us and more importantly, each other.
Thank you to those who stayed and returned. We are hoping we can turn everything around and make the game a wonderful place for you all, new and old. I love you guys and I’m happy to see things are taking a turn to a better setup.

We are sorry for all of the worry and confusion that's been sparked within the community as a result, and we hope to relieve you all from that as best we can. Some of you might know me as a past staff member, who, due to outside reasons, had to step down. I've returned now simply because this community means too much to me and I know it means a lot to you guys as well. I would like to lend my support to fellow staff, new and old, and help provide you all with the fun and welcoming community you deserve.
It's been said in previous responses that we would like for you all to remain civil in this thread, and I only hope you heed those words. This is our chance to explain everything, and you can expect more updates to come as well.

I hope that a few of you recognize me but for those who don’t, I’ve been a long time user since 2011.
I’ve most notably made my home within the ranks of the Ficho Fighters
for quite some time, and more recently, found a welcoming place within the forums.
As I’m sure the case is with many of you, I want nothing more than to
give back some beneficial and positive output to a place that—in turn—gives its own creative and helpful input.
FeralHeart has always been special to me and others,
and I think the best way to ensure that it continues being that special place,
is to keep contributing to a community that you all helped to shape in the first place.
I hope we can work together and support each other to see what the future brings.
There’s more to come and we hope you understand that it comes from an earnest place.

Hello everyone.
A few of you might know me personally, and some others may have seen me on the forums from time to time. I’ve always tried to be helpfully honest instead of brutally blunt, and I hope that most of you guys can see that, since I know that—on occasion—I can come across as colder than I’d like.
I’m here because this is a community that I’ve spent a lot of time with during my teenage years, and with whom I’ve created many fond memories. My reason for stepping up was to help in the aftermath of recent events; the past few weeks have been rather chaotic and have most certainly taken a toll on everyone here.
I can't really add anything more to what was already said in the previous posts, but I do hope that you will see it fit to give us a chance. We are all trying to give back to a community that has somehow affected who we are, and I can’t think of a greater honor than to work side by side with these wonderful people for your benefit.

I hope you've all been having a wonderful day so far. You may remember me from my past, as NommyShark/Shurtle. If not, then it's a pleasure to meet you all and I hope that it's been a reassurance for some of you to know that No Mod October will no longer prevail - as Razmirz has now appointed new Staff members.
This was never initially planned, on my part, to become a Moderator at all and stand to this position. Never. However, after I had managed to speak with Razmirz on the 'Hmm' board and further, in private via other social media, I was able to learn of what his intentions were for the future of FH. I was and still am very much convinced that I will be standing to represent the FH community's needs (as will all of the Staff) - taking into account what is asked of us, what is suggested, and putting the ideas forward to Razmirz himself should in be in terms of forum display/management and or the game and it's future.
I hope that the ending to the No Mod October will come as a reassurance to some that there is no longer a need to fear for this blocking=banning business.
I will be around to answer all inquiries should there be any (which I expect there to be a lot), my PMs and Contact details will be open and available.

It is a relief to finally be seeing some transparency, and to also be seeing some old (also some newer) trusted faces stepping into the roles of staff (some of you for a second time).
The sudden and vague start to this journey has scared and confused many members and it may be hard to gain trust again so easily from some, but it seems you are taking steps in the right direction. Clarifying what is going on, what your plans are, and not leaving things up in the air is going to help us as a community understand and trust you again.
This has been a very jarring change that many are probably still wrapping their heads around, but I’m hopeful for the future. I hope that the air can be cleared between staff and community and I hope that this new plan for transparency works well, it sounds like a good idea.
Love you all regardless, you are all the perfect people for the job <3

Its nice to see something good come of this mess. Ive been here since 2012, ive had my times of phasing in and out of activity on the game--but I'll never stop loving it, as I'm glad everyone else feels the same. I look forward to the future of the game from here on out. ❤

I do not recognize most of the new mods here as i only had fh since 2015 and ive been so used to the ones that left but im glad to have had met you guys now and i hope things do work out.
The only question or really opinion i have and i did see the Hmm forum before coming back to this one. Is that the maps that were released were actually really good as they felt more lively and adventurous, sure the only problem i had with it were the fact that some of the portals were hard to find (not in ficho cause i think thats why it had does colored crystals and if u been around the old and new maps u should know the way through it by now) In second thought they were all good... those who have seen them, enjoyed them and are still talked about but it be cool to add more INTENSITY to game and or hype is to release each map or revamp to game with time because it would give the community have something HYPE up about.

Welcome new mods! I'm very relieved that there will be no Mod-Free October. I was planning on avoiding public maps entirely for the whole month, which would've been a bother! I just returned to playing this game as soon as all of this was happening, and I'm glad that things seem to be stitching back together again, at least. Raz, I'm grateful for what you do for this community, I just suggest, as many others have, that you don't have to keep so many secrets. This is a community, after all, and the less secrets there are and the less vague explanations are given, the less misunderstandings the community will have!

i kinda figured that something was up that one time a bunch of the new mods chased me around in the grounds [a few days ago] - i hadn't seen these people all together and never really in game[i lurk the forums and knew all your names at least], but it's an awesome surprise that y'all are staff!!
it seems like you have a good group dynamic and i hope the best for this new team that not only will your existing skills help you in this new position, but that you'll be able to learn stuff independently and as a group. i may have never moderated in my life but i've been friends with and just read stuff about how.. not easy it can be, so lets root for smooth sailing as ya guys are starting out!

Hm. Glad Red is back on the team to help, really. I feel iffy about this considering there has been some termoil between my friends and some of them in TG. Problems with arguments with players. However, Im not going to be a pessimist and I’m sure this team will do great and hopefully the old mods will come and help. I hope this is great for the community and thanks for the update

I somewhat agree with this as well—I definitely am not saying the newly appointed staff are bad or less-deserving in any way, but nothing can replace the wonderful staff that were in place before “no-mod october” was announced. Why would old staff members want to return knowing they could lose their position at any moment? I feel the game has lost some creditabilty due to this decision. Regardless, I do wish to congratulate those appointed and wish them the best of luck in their new positions!
Still, it is very nice hearing that no-mod october will not be put into effect. Hopefully the word gets out quickly and undoes any drama it possibly may have stirred with its declaration. :]

Well. I guess the initial freak-out was an overreaction for the most part, from myself included. Apologies all around. I'm relieved to see some new and old faces as MODs; it gives me hope that maybe this game will get back on the map of the RP world and we'll see bigger numbers online daily. Fingers crossed anyway!

to be fair, the reaction was expected. i don't think it was really that big of an overreaction[compare to other scares]
but to raz's credit he responded to it in a decent amount of time. which is something a lot of game hosts/server hosts/devs/owners/etc can't boast.

I had a crazy, vibrant dream about what Part 2 might entail. The next update. FH was completely overhauled. LC was space-themed and was a small planet you could see and talk to other players in, and you had to enter a dark portal to get out. You could also fly without wings! ...and that’s all i can remember.

I honestly just wanted this game to die. The forum community is okay, but the in game community as a whole has been withering and withering and withering. Perhaps I'm too cynical but I simply don't like any of the turns this game has taken. Some will have fun but I most certainly won't.
Keep trying, I suppose, and good luck to those who still think this game deserves a chance. Maybe it does but I'm done giving it any.

I'm here because I used to love this game. It was apart of my childhood and taught me the ways of roleplaying. Now, it's a place that constantly ridicules my best friend into fearing coming back, a place that lacks in any emotion or community that I've once seen, and honestly-- a bore to me. I tried countless times to give it a chance and sometimes it worked out. Sometimes I'd meet cool people and have fun. Those were rare occasions. I'd then sit and wait, hoping they'd come back but they never do.
I'm sick of seeing the same conversations over and over in the Grounds. I'm sick of the dwindling variety in roleplays. I'm sick of how empty this place is.
I want to be in a place that's fun, not a place that reminds me of times that can never come back.
And no, they're not someone who breaks the rules. They're just annoying, in my opinion.
I liked how FeralHeart was and how it used to be. It's not the same and while things an change, and in some ways it is good-- it has taken it's toll. Member counts aren't rising, activity is lessening, and I'm giving up. Thank you for being nice while it lasted, FeralHeart, but I really think you should be lowered into your grave. But to those who don't think that... then make the most out of the fragments.

I'm sorry you feel this way about the game. Maybe you just need a little break from the game. Sometimes a nice break can be good for someone (it's kind of what I've been doing by playing some other games.)
Just curious though, you say a certain someone has ruined the game for you? If you could, would you ever consider talking to them to make things better? I don't know the situation that's made you have hard feelings for them, but maybe it was a misunderstanding... I don't know. Maybe you two could talk and make amends to release the tension?
It's just a thought. Hopefully things get better.

Although things may seem to be improving, what has been done has been done and can't be erased. The reputation of the Feral Heart staff was already very poor amongst long-term players, and I personally disagree with the return of the selected staff for undisclosed reasons. I'm not shocked, but still disappointed, that this is what the fate of Feral Heart has become. I had naively looked up to the staff when first joining the game, but had promptly left after becoming aware of the mistreatment of players and inappropriate interactions by staff that took in places outside of Feral Heart. Some seem to forget that this is a children's game, after all.
The nostalgia isn't enough for me to return, and although I do miss Feral Heart when in its prime, I don't see any potential in the future of this game.
I'm aware that I am coming across as dramatic here - I really don't care much for the game but I felt the need to post my thoughts. I no longer have any strong feelings about the game as I don't play anymore lol

What has been done can’t be erased, no, but it can be forgiven. If you don’t forgive you never progress any further.
May I ask what bothers you about the current staff in place?
FH will advance from here, once you hit rock bottom the only way is up. A lot of people doubted this game would make a comeback from what happened, but here we are. There’s surely more to come than just this, so just wait and be patient to see how it goes.

i don't think you are being dramatic. you're allowed to have your opinion and it's respected as long as you not try to start discourse about it.
i kind of relate because i used to not have a good relationship with the staff team but i personally dealt with it in the long run. with a new team in place there is always room for improvement. they haven't even been here for a week so they have a lot of time to prove themselves.

I've been hanging out with a few of the new staff members in The Snuggle Club's Discord server (you need to get an invite link from me or someone that's in it to join), and they all seem to be a good choice of mods to keep FeralHeart under control. I'm looking forward to what they and Raz have in store for us in the future. I'm especially hyped for the Halloween party coming up. I'll be sure to be there!
