Leaving / more of a hiatus? i guess?

well i,, still can't play feralheart with the whole crashing issue that refuses to be fixed, so like

i'm barely part of the forums anyway so i've just decided at this point to make this thread and take a break

but since i do indeed still want to try to fix feralheart, feel free to keep suggesting things to do in my help thread, i'll keep checking the forums in case that gets updated n stuff

sorry guys,, i really wanted to play with you all again and have fun like i used to, but i guess i'm not allowed to //shrug

i'll come back, probably, depends on if i do actually get feralheart to work again

all my characters go by human years in terms of age because i simply cannot use any other means of age
in Ash's case she goes by human years because she's me i guess

Abilities:
Possession
Being a ghost, Dreams has the ability to possess people and objects, allowing her to control their movements. Her 'victims' are always aware this is happening, however, as she can only control movement.
Form Change
Dreams can manipulate her spiritual form to take on a wisp-like appearance. This form allows her to travel much faster than she can in her other forms.
Intangible
Because she is a ghost, Dreams can move through any object, be it a wall, a ceiling, or even the ground itself. She cannot pass through force fields or other energy barriers, though.
Invisibility
Dreams can turn herself completely invisible, unable to be seen by anything but machines. She tends to use this before her Possession ability.
Supernatural Connection
Being dead herself, Dreams can see and communicate with other ghosts and supernatural beings.
Glow
Dreams' form gives off a very faint glow. It's not very useful as a light source, but at least those she's with can't lose her in the dark.

Extra Information:
- Due to the nature of Dreams of Stars' death, she is stuck in the physical plane and is unable to rest. This could easily make her a vengeful spirit, but all she wants to do is play.
- Dying so young means Dreams will never fully mature. She's stuck with the mind of a child, even though she's been dead for decades.
- When she was alive, Dreams was royalty. Her parents were the rulers of a large group of foxes. Perhaps that has something to do with why she was killed.
- Though objects and people pass through her body, making contact with her spiritual form feels like touching ice or a particularly cold piece of metal.
- Dreams does not remember her death, only that it happened. She doesn't even know how long she's been a ghost.

Abilities:
Pyrokinesis
Being Fire-Born, Cosmo has the ability to summon flames from her body. Her control of her Flames is limited, but they rarely grow too wild unless she pushes herself.
Flame Wings
Using her Pyrokinesis, Cosmo can shape her Flames into wings. This gives her the ability to fly, though strong winds or rainy weather will cause her wings to disappear.
Family Visor
Cosmo can summon a glowing green visor. It can do things like communicate, log information, scan plants and animals, and more. It can also allow her friend, Star, to visit her world in hologram form.

Extra Information:
- Cosmo is Hydrophobic. She can't stand being wet, and when it rains, she will not leave dry shelter until it passes. Because of her phobia, she has never learned how to swim.
- Her back legs are strong enough to crack boulders. Though it has the potential to be a deadly weapon, she doesn't use her hind legs in battle unless she grows desperate.
- Cosmo has the hearing capabilities of a Fennec Fox, since her front half shares the appearance of one.
- Cosmo is an Omnivore. She can eat everything ranging from plants, animals, and bugs. She will eat just about anything, except for birds.
- When Cosmo feels any strong emotion, the tips of her ears will ignite. Depending on the emotion, the fire can appear tame or wild.
- Cosmo always smells of burnt fur. This is a side effect of her Pyrokinesis.
- Cosmo may or may not suffer from PTSD due to traumatic events in her past.
- The ring on Cosmo's left ear was gifted to her by her wife, Henrietta.

Even without wings, Ash can fly through the air at will. She doesn't know how she can do this, but she doesn't bother questioning it. It does take up energy though, so she cannot fly forever.

Extra Information:
- Ash's front paws are large with long toes. Because of this, she is able to carry items as if her paws were hands. She prefers to use her mouth though, since she uses her paws to walk.
- Ash uses her long, fluffy tails to hide when scared, nervous, or uncomfortable. She also uses them as a blanket while she sleeps.
- Along with her tails, Ash also covers her face with her paws when feeling any of the above emotions.
- Ash uses her ability to fly for the simplest of things. She would much rather fly than climb for example, even when it's close enough to jump to.
- Ash can mimic the sounds of most felines, allowing her to communicate with them even if they cannot speak. She knows their body language as well.
- Ash, like most cats, retained the instinct to fall limp when her scruff is grabbed. Though, even once she's released, it takes her a few moments to regain the ability to move.
- Ash is a pacifist. She refuses to hurt anything, even bugs. She will fight back if needed, though she's still no fighter.
- Ash is Autistic, though high functioning. She still panics when in or around crowds or any other places that set off her senses, though she can handle it fairly well until she is safe again. She still needs time to recover afterwards, of course.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / a more tails option?

i have no idea if this would even be possible tbh, but what if you could choose to have more than one tail on a character?

i'm mostly thinking this because my fursona has two tails (here she is if you want to see her

) and it'd be neat to make her a FH design

maybe you can only have 2 or 3 tails, idk, too many sounds like there'd be a lot of issues with clipping or some stuff like that (probly hard to see markings too)

i know there're like items that add more tails, but you can't change the colors of them so it's hard to make a character design to fit them

i don't know if this was asked before, so sorry if that's the case ^^'

Request a Preset/Marking / my mascot needs a preset now

so i have decided (more like my friend vaguely forced me) to bring my mascot, Cosmo, back into FeralHeart
...whenever i can because it's crashing every 5 seconds now

i uh... still can't make presets so i need someone else to do it

this is Cosmo, and as you can see she's quite the child

what i need is her entire self as a preset, visor and earring not included, and it's not really required but having her fire wings be included would be nice too, with the kinda fire slidey n glowy effects yeah?

also uh, her fur's a little weird, cause the brown's longer like your average canine, but the tan's short like a horse's coat (and has hooves), so you'd probably need like two whole textures for that
and if you end up doing her wings, they don't need to be shaped or anything crazy like that, the most they need is fire effects because they are indeed made of fire
you can also make the inside of her ears just white of course

uhh i think that's it? idk obviously she needs a mane, and a mane texture for her tail since it too is hair, and yeah that's about it

if you have any questions or are confused about/want to confirm something then please tell me and i will try my best to explain

Game Help / FeralHeart doesn't like existing

oh dear

basically my problem is that FeralHeart keeps crashing after maybe a few minutes of playing, then it takes forever for me to get back into the game cause it crashes when i try to load a character for a few tries

that's how it was for a few days, and today it's more often crashing as i try to use the character selection, so i can't really get into the game

i'm not sure if it's anything to do with my antivirus, cause it really doesn't like the exe file (keeps trying to delete it...), or if it's something else

very unfortunate, and i know nothing of technology so i don't really know what to do
i wanna join a group at some point but i can't really do that if i crash every few minutes ;;

sorry if this is hard to understand at all, i'm real bad at explaining things
but hopefully there's a solution

Game Help / how do i share a preset again?

it's been a long since i've played this game (and currently i'm still unable to due to the glitch), but my character has a preset and i completely forgot how i can share said preset with other people

i know it has someething to do with putting it up on a file sharing website or something like that, but i don't remember what website, and i don't remember exactly how to do that

so uh... basically feel free to tell me a whole step-by-step guide on how to share a preset, that'd be the easiest way for me to figure it out, cause i'd probably get confused otherwise,,

i don't know how to make these, really, but yeah

feel free to ask me anything, whether it be about what i like, what my current ~~obsessions~~ fandoms are, you can even ask me about my characters if you want

you can look around my DeviantArt, hopefully that can help give out some ideas on what to ask (and also to see my characters that you can ask about as i mentioned, just go to my gallery and click the "Unaffiliated References" folder)
you might recognize Cosmo and Stargazer (though Stargazer's design and name have changed a lot, while Cosmo barely has). i've kept them around, with Cosmo being my mascot and Stargazer fitting with my space aesthetic thing i seem to like so much, i dunno

i can suggest questions like favorite color, favorite animal, current fandoms, reasons behind my username(s), and stuff like that, but that's about where my creativity ends, so you'll be on your own after that

ask anything your mind suggests, i'll get around to answering them when i can
and if i feel like it or the question inspires me enough, i might sketch something out for it with Star or Ash or my other characters if i'm able to

so, hey... i'm not sure if anyone actually remembers me (SSFireWolf, babystrit, StarInTheCosmos...), i think it's been a few years since i was last here? i'm not sure

but, i've been thinking about FeralHeart recently, and i even downloaded it again and asked for a preset for one of my characters, so i guess it's about time i made a new introduction

i know i made a lot of mistakes last time i was here, with the whole leaving, coming back, leaving, then coming back again, as well as other things... i wasn't too smart, that's true, and i'm probably still making those kinds of mistakes, but i really want to try again here. this place was super fun when i was around, and i want to try to have fun again

i don't know how easy it'll be, i don't expect it to be easy at all, especially with Autism and anxiety and all that getting worse since i was here last, and i've gotten more afraid. it's hard even writing this post, honestly
it's not all bad, though. some good things have happened, too. if y'all remember OutOfBreath, she's my greatest friend now, and we hang out every Saturday, at her house or mine.
so, i'm doing alright nowadays. a lot better than i was in the past, yeah. still full of anxiety, but i don't think anything's gonna change that (especially when your best friend has no sense of self-preservation... yasa if you find this ily but you worry me)

but, aside from me rambling, i really hope you guys can accept me again. i want this to be a true clean slate for me

i don't know how long it'll take for me to get back in-game, or hang around on the forums, but i hope you guys can be patient and accepting, you all seemed good at that back then, and i hope that's still true today.

so, really, this is my official return. or should i say it's me arriving for the first time? i don't know, but i do hope i can talk to you all again, and i hope i can stay for longer without leaving

i don't know if i'll bring back any of my former characters, we'll have to see

Request a Preset/Marking / need a ghost fox preset

though i'm too anxious to actually play FeralHeart often nowadays, for those rare chances i can actually leave the Lonely Cave, i want a preset for the character i've decided to be my main here

i lost the ability to make my own presets a long time ago, which is why i'm asking here instead of doing it myself

the character in question is this child, and a color palette is right here for convenience

for things you can't see, her pawpads are the same pink as her tongue/inner ears, and her teeth can be the same white/pale yellow that's on her body i guess
the inside of her ears on the preset can be that white color too, no need for the pink
i think it's possible to add invisible wings? or was that just for if a preset doesn't have wings textured for it? i can't remember but ghosts can fly so Dreams should too i suppose
and of course i want her to be semi-transparent, if there's a way to make that look good and not like... the only way i can describe it is not being able to see her body parts through her body, but i don't think that makes sense
and maybe make her glowy? or just,, have shadows be non-existent on her, since ghosts don't have shadows? idk

no need to worry about her accessories, it's a good thing items exist to do that for us

but thanks for whoever decides to make this for me!
unfortunately i don't have money but i can draw something for payment if you want? my art skills are at least somewhat decent now so //shrug
