I don't think they expected so many people all at once XD. The second it was released there was about 3 sites where you could download if it wasn't in your region, which only made things worst. They fixed it for most and it should be up and running soon. Hopefully.

I now have Charmander, Rattata (got rid of the lower level one), Pidgey, Weedle, Ekans, and Doduo.

I wonder, though, do the Pokemon differ in regions/states? Are people in the Northern States not going to get many bug Pokemon whereas here in Florida we're going to get a lot?

I'd love to hear where everyone's from and what sort of Pokemon you are capturing/at least see on your nearby list.

It's a little basic and buggy but nothing too major, at least on my phone. I went outside last evening to catch Pokemon and there's a nice variety to catch in my area. I should take a break from the computer and go out again now that it's daytime, this app is really fun!

Even if I can't do much with the iPad it's still fairly fun to play c:

What Pokemon have you guys gotten? What Pokemon do you notice around your areas?

Overall it's a fun concept but quite the battery drainer. I must have passed over 20 people playing Pokemon Go yesterday and it was pretty amusing. It is definitely a distracting thing though, best to stay alert always. Stay safe guys.

There are three teams to choose from. Team Instinct ( Yellow - Zapdos ) Team Mystic ( Blue - Articuno ) and Team Valor ( Red - Moltres )
You can join a team once you hit level 5, and find a gym. Simply tap on a gym and it will ask you which team you want to join.
The teams are for gyms and do nothing else. For example, if you're apart of Team Instinct, you can only battle at Blue or Red gyms and try to claim it for your team, but you can train at a Yellow gym.

Seems like a clever idea to get people to go outside, especially those who are normally indoors all day. I especially find it fascinating how certain types of Pokemon appear depending on where you live, the climate, and the weather at any given point. Just something I find really cool cx

But guys, please remember to have common sense and be aware of traffic etc while walking around~<3

Same here! my town is normally a bad town, where theres alot of shootings and muggings but i decided to walk a couple blocks and what do i see.....the sidewalks FILLED with groups of people playing! Everyone playing it was so nice and friendly asking me what pokemon i caught what team i was on, i even found a group to hang out with...pokemon is gonna save the world i swear.

I joined team Valor, and have a 2 Magikarp, an Eggcute, 2 Eevee, 2 Paras, 3 Rattata and Weedles, 2 Caterpie, a Vulpix, Poliwag, Vebonat, Gloom, Zubat, Golbat, and Slowpoke. I'm releasing doubles so I can make them evolve/power up faster.

I want a ghost-type but they only come out at night, and my neighborhood is not the safest place. But that Gastly is really tempting...

I feel ya, still ain't out in the UK either, I'm really hoping they don't delay it too long, this seems like such a great idea, and I'm pretty sure that since I'm going to college at Blackpool I'll have some interesting experiences with the game.

Mhm. I'm hoping that when I go back to school I'll be able to find Pokemon in the school at lunch break, that'd be fun. Or when I'm at the grocery store... ect.

I hope everyone remembers to be careful though, there's been a lot of bad events because of people not being careful while playing the game.

Side note: I'm joining Team Instinct. Literally only because it has the best name. That's it. x"D (I clearly don't care about competing with teams too much. I'll challenge a few gyms though.)

That's sad. The game basically is a map yet people are getting themselves hurt, and because humans we blame it on the game.

I doubt you'd even be able to connect to the GPS or anything there. But if you could, hopefully some pretty "cool" pokemon (see what I did there? ... I'll stop now.)

Also, I tried out Pokemon GO yesterday. I got a Charamander (Chara. Real creative I know.), Eevee (Frisk. Because Chara.), Zubat (BattyBatFace. I tried to name him BattyMcBatBatFace but apparently that was too long), Spearow (Undyne. Because SPEAR-), Abra (Amily. Because Abra + Emily = Amily or something), and some other cool Pokemon

Also Charmander spawned in the wall. So. Yeah. That happened. x"D

I've had the app for a week and a half or so (i was lucky enough to be able to upgrade my phone to get it), and I'm level 15. Strongest pokemon is a ~1100 Vaporeon.

Also, I go out of my way to destroy Valor gyms, so...

I haven't bothered with fighting gyms yet, seeing as my highest CP pokemon is a 600-something Flareon named Flof, and runnerup being a 500-something Jolteon named Naruto. I just wanna get a good stock of stardust and already high-CP pokes before I do any insane leveling.
