Title: If there were a third model, what species would you want it to be?

Even though we have the source code now, the possibility of a new model is unlikely with everything it takes to make one. :(
However... if there was going to be one, and YOU could pick the species... what would it be?

A hard decision. What entails the word "feral," and what comes to mind from the word? Is it a carnivore, omnivore, or herbivore? Even though the word is synonymous not with diet, but whether or not it is domesticated.

Personally, I am torn between a cervine and equine. Both of which are often created now, despite the limitations. Though, just because their real-world counterparts are strictly herbivorous (even though, the will to survive may warrant some questionable consumption of meat) doesn't mean they should be restricted to such in-game.

However, it can also be all of the above! Perhaps, over time.

Other possibilities, variants of the canine and feline model; wolf vs dog, big cat vs house cat.

I agree with Kastilla - the decision is a very difficult one to make!

I overall went with deer - the deer presets I have seen have been so gorgeous and well made, and I feel that if we had the deer option in roleplay settings we could see more interaction - wolf pack hunting down a herd of deer.

I am anxious to see what others will decide - thank you for making this poll!

i feel like fh has always thrived with the simple binary of wolf/lion - all the customization options offered give us plenty to work with to make whatever creatures we want to see come to life in rp..
not to mention adding a new model now would very likely clash with the ones we have now- something made in 2021 would simply have a different look and feel vs something made in 2011- it's a product of technology and understanding changing and there's nothing wrong with it.
that being said i'm torn between deer and/or horse- i ultimately voted horse as i feel like there's more creative potential to be unlocked there with character creation and preset making.
i thought about this for a while, truth be told, because i feel like two carnivores and one herbivore would make the whole game feel...unbalanced..? if that makes sense.. but there's no good way to complete the circle..
anyways pony go brrrrrrrr but i'd be tickled by any third option added to the game, in all honesty

This is a very intriguing topic! I'm actually a huge fan of animals, and love a lot of species, but to me FeralHeart always felt a little empty without an equine model. Though I also adore deer, I always thought that a lot of players, including myself, always strived to make horses / zebras / other equines by using the canine model all the time.

Therefore, I feel like if FeralHeart would ever accept a third model into the game, it should be an herbivore / equine. Because... It would just make overall sense. xDD
Dragons are fascinating too, however...

I think a horse or deer model would be a lovely choice as either would give players so many new options for character creation

If we'd keep FH to just carnivorous species, a bear model would probably be the way to go. Unfortunately I haven't seen a whole lot of bear/raccoon/etc characters so it probably wouldn't be the best option in the long run

I'm of the opinion that FH should stick to carnivoran mammals- so I'd personally like to see a bear or a hyena.

What a fun topic! I personally chose horse, because it would be cool to see a herbivore added to the mix. A horse model allows for many other animals to be made from it, in my opinion. I do have to agree with what Telluric said though about the models and how unlikely this is because of that, but it's a fun topic nonetheless!

Birds, because then we could probably find a way to create gryphons if we crossed a lion and eagle which in my opinion would be awesome.

Ya', das right! Horses got more power than one can imagine... No seriously. Look into their mythology / fantasy.
There's a lot more to it than just Unicorns and Pegasus- For example... Hidden Ethereals... Qilins are also similar, but those are goat-like

Besides, people always wanted to play as Spirit and Rain in FH ( along with other untamable mustangs ), from the Dreamworks Animated Film; SPIRIT: Stallion Of The Cimarron

People just gradually drifted away from the idea, but they always try to incorporate Herbivorous Characters,
by using canine models, adding edgy / flowy manes, and add-on antlers. They're desperate, too! x'D

The bird kid in me desperately wants to see birds added into the game, particularly predatory birds like eagles, hawks and falcons, which used to occupy my every waking thought until the age of about 12. Maybe having them in the game will encourage me to make more avian characters in general. Maybe they could have weird primitive features like claws on the wings or beaks filled with teeth?

If you guys are going to add birds into the game, you should also at least consider revamping the flight system. Instead of having it be like you hit one button to take off, another button to land, and you're basically running but you're in the air, maybe you could make it more dynamic? I'm not sure the limitations the guys in charge would have on this, but I'd love to see flight in the game become something like the flight they have in Cereal Soup. I never played the game much, but I did enjoy the flight simulator they included with the regular game. Even though there wasn't really all that much to do there, I thought flying around in general was pretty fun.
