Title: more map issues... intentional but i need to turn them around
Post by: bigblackbullets on August 02, 2011, 05:08:49 pm
idk how to explain it

but so i have a map made. exported and i play in it all the time now. but i had to delete the .map file so i CANNOT edit the map anymore because i had to make space on my cpu.

now since i dont have the .map file for this map, i dont have the ability to edit the map and add in little things every now and again.

so i need to know... is there any way to get my map file back? as in is there a way to convert an fhm file into a .map file?

If that's even possible it would be like cracking the encryption used for the .fhm, and I personally don't think that's ok. Ask your local computer wizzkid and they might be able to help you rofl.

I don't know why would delete a small small file as the .map, and for your CPU non the less lol.

I'm not sure if it works copying another .map file and just renaming it to the name the old one you deleted used to have. So try that first.

If that doesn't work I'd just drop the whole idea of editing that map. The only way would be cracking the encryption on the .fhm file, and just a few know how to do this, and it shouldn't be done at all.

*ninja'd*
No. But can you get it back from your recycle bin? Maybe you shouldn't have deleted it anyways, that file doesn't take up much space.

I think you might be out of luck there... unless you backed up the .map file somehow (or can find it in your recycle bin/trash...). Next time try deleting a bigger file that you DON'T need, instead of a tiny map file.

...And of course Red beat me to it. Thanks, Mr. Cabbage Lion. XD

Did you put this water mesh there? :T If not, try saving the map and then re-opening it. It could be a glitch.
