Okay, so I already read Delay's help thread about Map Maker Issues, but it didn't help me. Well, actually, I don't even know what my problem is or what I did wrong. I made sure my height map is grayscale, square, has only one layer and is saved in .png format, but my Map Maker keeps crashing when I try to load the height map. I made maps before, and it all worked perfectly then. But my Map Maker only crashes when I try to load a height map. I'm still able to load Terrain Masks and already existing maps.
Any suggestions what I could do to make it all work again?

Did you try saving the file in .jpg, loading it, re-saving in .png, and re-loading? Also, uninstalling (completely, which means deleting the FH folder and all of its contents, after backing up custom maps/markings/etc.) and reinstalling the game might help.

I tried saving it in .jpg format, but when I try to load it in Map Maker it says the file could not be found.
Well, I think I'll try reinstalling the game, then. Thanks :3

I once made a height map to detailed which instantly crashed my map maker. Trying loading just a blank or flat terrain map and see if it's just that height map or all of them =]

I tried loading just a flat height map and it worked. So I guess you're right, my other height map is too detailed. Though I already made way more detailed height maps that worked just fine. But thanks, now I know what went wrong :3

i dont get it i finished making my height map saved it for png went to feral heart options map maker typed in the height map it says feral heart not working instantly i tried this like 10 times not working caqn someone help i dont even make my map so detailed

Crystal, first of all, you're supposed to make a new thread for your problem and not asking for help in other people's threads.
But, since I'm a nice person I'll try to help you here anyway ^^
Double check if you got all requirements right. Those are:
- Grayscale mode
- Saved in .png format
- Is and has been one layer all the time!
And by the way, if you're using programs like Paint for making your height maps, it won't work because there's no Grayscale mode. You should use GIMP (You can download it for free, just Google it.) or any version of Photoshop.
