Title: Object Maker: Unable to use textures; BaseWhite
Post by: Benjamin on August 13, 2011, 09:46:40 pm
All right, so, I have searched through most of the threads, they either say something that are incredibly confusing, or they don't help at all. I wasted an hour and a half of my life just trying to figure it out myself, so...

After I download objects from media fire or else where, I put the mesh and texture image in the, "My_objects" folder.
When I went to object maker now in the game, it will allow me to open the mesh, but the texture comes up as Basewhite. It's incredibly annoying, because some textures will show and most will not. I went over all of the textures and they all say png. The object maker section on Documentation won't show up for me, so, maybe I'm making an incredibly simple mistake or not. I'd be very pleased and happy if you could help me with this.

If this subject has been brought up before, and it was solved, please link me to the thread or tell me. And please don't get too upset if it has been said before... I'm not exactly a good, "search dog." x)

Honestly I think the easiest thing to do would be to uninstall, completely delete the FH folder, and then reinstall. That should fix it. :3

I would copy the .MATERIAL files of the downloaded objects, and paste them into "materials" {FeralHeart->media->materials}

This is happening to me, too. I really don't want to re-install FH... -sigh- I hope we can find a way to fix this, because it is extremely annoying. ._.

Did you try copying the .MATERIAL files into "materials"?

I was having your exact problem.

Did you rename the files to something else? Because the texture will go basewhite if you do. I renamed the files from their downloaded names and got base white. When I entered their original names, everything worked.

Make sure it's in my_objects.

I don't ever put the .materials in my materials folder... do I have to do that? And no, i never rename the files either...

I usually put them into "materials", and they seem to work. So, I'd try it.

I have the same problem! I did what you said to do, Jayfeather55, and FeralHeart just freezes and says something went wrong. >.< I hope I'm doing something else wrong!
