Title: Map tutorials/meshes?

I was just wondering if there are any good map making tutorials out there. I basically only understand height maps and a tiny bit of object making. I reallyyyyyyyyyyy want to make a map, but I still have a lot to learn and there aren't any tutorials I could find. ;3; Also, where can I download different meshes?
