Title: Skies and Particles
Post by: Experimentel on August 15, 2011, 12:52:24 am
So I made a sky in the sky maker and saved it. When I try to load it in a custom map, it keeps telling me it cannot be found. I've tried with and without the .sky at the end.

Also having the same problem with particles.

If someone could explain the way particles and skies work in custom maps I would appreciate it.

You've exported the sky right?

I'm really bad at this part, but you can try placing it at different places see if the map maker can find them.

Like
C:\FeralHeart\media\sky
C:\FeralHeart\media\terrains
C:\FeralHeart\media\terrains\mapname

I always thought the exported sky file went into the sky folder and the particles go into the particles folder, though I haven't used these myself yet so I'm not sure, maybe it's capital sensitive as well? Have you looked in the user made tutorials section on the forum yet? I'm sure someone has got a tutorial on how it works. :3

That happened to me too. Make sure when you type the sky name into the map that you don't put .sky or .fhs after it. It won't read it like that for some reason. The sky also doesn't show until you test the map, so don't freak if it doesn't come up right away. :3

Particle file names are case sensitive, I myself have recently been playing around with some I downloaded. I don't much about the sky file ordeal,  I don't mess with sky all that much X3.
