So, I decided to make a couple maps for organizing my portals but then I realized, even though I organize them into those groups, they'll still show up as individual portals in the Cape, is there a way, (with just the fhm files) to make the portals not show up in the Cape, but still allow me to put gates in the maps I'm making? Hopefully someone can help, I don't have any idea on what I should do :/

Unfortunately this is not the answer you were looking for. You can't edit FHM file, and that is what you'd need to do to remove the portals and add return gates.
