Title: Fur texture for preset?

Okay, so I decided to try to make my own preset. I know how to color it and get it to work in the game. But I don't know how to use the fur texture so that it doesn't look so flat. I know where to get it, but what do I have to do when I found it?
I use Photoshop CS2, if that matters.
