Title: Can't connect to menu
Post by: Thunderlion123 on September 11, 2011, 02:49:32 am
Alright. Simple problem, but causing me a HELL load of annoyance. I open up FH, launch it, and I immediately get: FeralHeart.exe has encountered a critical error...

So I close it down.

Now the main thing is that OpenGL is the only one FH will open in, I can't switch it. Any ideas?

Well if ur trying to change it to Direct3D u could go to the FH folder and delete the OpenGL then u would only have the Direct3D one to use. The first time u open FH after deleting youll get an error about OpenGL but click it again and it will go to Direct3D. If ur not happy go to the recycle bin and restore OpenGL. Also hav u tried re-installed it?

I've re-installed FH 7 times already.

and scroll down to "How to fix it".

But instead of pasting Direct3D9, paste OpenGL Rendering Subsystem.

If you have problems with the OpenGL itself, try lowering resolution from the cfg file, along with running it windowed mode.

Ok, I just tried it again.

It seems to work only on OpenGL if I restart my computer. Once I close FH however, I can't open it again.

So it works if you restart, but once the game has been up once, it doesn't anymore?

You should get the game working once, and then change something inside the options menu as it's working and close it down.

Lets say if you run the game in fullscreen and a higher res, once you get on, go into the video menu, change it to windowed and something like 800 x 600 in resolution. And turn of the game from the menus. This will make sure it's saved I believe.

If you get the game to work, and it crashes, the changes you made in the game settings wont be saved I believe, might have something to do with that.

But I'm not sure.

The ogre.cfg should stay in a certain rendering mode of you change it.

Maybe it's not the game though?

I doubt it's not the game. But I've already tried that. I have it in windowed mode, I've tried switched EVERYTHING.

I just have to ask one more time.

Does the game not work at all, doesn't matter which rendering mode you use? Or does it work once everytime you've had a restart, then it stops again?

Ok... I think I get what you're trying to ask.

So, it will ONLY open in OpenGL. I open the drop-down, and it's only OpenGL. I can only get onto FH if I restart my entire computer. After I close FH after I play it (after restarting) it won't work.

So every time my computer restarts, I can only play FH once.
