a while ago i made a topic saying that terrain masks don't work in my maps, as well as the default fh maps, they all show up as African grass all the time. here is a picture i took after tweaking the terrain coding a bit:

see how it's all green grass? thats because i went under the fh coding and turned the african grass parts to green grass, but now all of the maps are green grass as well as the maps used in object testing and map maker, the same thing that was happening with the african grass.
don't know what i'm saying yet? i'm saying that my computer and feral heart can support the other terrain colors but terrain masks don't work in my maps and in the default maps, their the same everywhere.
another problem: anybody notice that there are no items in the splash screen? yeah that's been happening too
before you say that i messed up the coding i just want to point out that i did NOTHING to cause this. it happened when i downloaded FH and african grass was the color of the ground everywhere i went and terrain masks don't work. it stayed the same way when i redownloaded and installed feral heart

there were trees and stuff there when i redownloaded it but when i opened up the game again it was back to this o_0

try switching rendering modes under options? I dunno if that will work by try it

there are supposed to be some there, i think the watermill (the place in the splash screen) should have some plants in it but i never see any. and there's no portal back to the cape

When you log in are there items?

there where items when i first redownloaded and reinstalled the game but when i closed it and came back later the items were gone D:

i think red could help but he hasn't replied to many help boards i've seen lately

did u delete the temp.map file? Changed where FH objects like fir trees etc are in their object list.. deleted a temp folder, or messed with any watermill files. This would explain why objects are missing on yer starter screen.

i'm unsure of your problem but i will tell you my experiences:
When i open the watermill map at map maker and i save it, the next time i open the login, all object dissappear.
Solution: reinstall.
my oldest computer does not show terrain blending, all maps everywhere is sand. even with updated graphics card drivers and switching rendering driver doesn't work.
Solution: Change the computer or the video card with a newer one.
if you can please open the file FH.log at put here all text it has, maybe it can be helpful.

Theirry: so your saying that my map can only handle one terrain at a time? because it used to be african grass everywhere until i changed the african grass parts of the splash screen to green grass. i redownloaded and reinstalled many times but it never gets fixed
ouka: no i didn't delete anything and as i said in the first post i did nothing to cause this.

no, i'm not saying that. i am saying the problem can be the computer/graphics card.

oh, well my computer isn't any of the new versions (xp,vista) as far as i know it's a windows hp and my parents aren't going to buy a new one any time soon. thanks for the help though but i still find it weird that my fh can support the other terrain textures but they can't support a terrain mask

if i am right, i think you are using an old computer, try to update your graphics card drivers.
Actually i'm using windows XP and FH works fine.

maybe it's because your using a xp which i think is a newer version than hp

I believe you are confused.
HP is a computer trademark (Hewlett-Packard)
and Windows is a Operating System (SO).
The most common windows versions that (i'm sure) it runs FH are:
-Windows XP
-Windows Vista
-Windows 7 (seven)
anyway, if you need help updating Graphics drivers you can ask in this forum.

i CAN'T update the graphics card. my parents would get upset if i did it on my own and i asked them if they could update it but they never do it. FH works just fine on my computer (i'm still completely sure i don't have any of the computers you listed) it's just the masks that don't work. thanks anyway but i'll just stick with switching the terrains in the coding file whenever i want the ground a different color. (might turn it to snow since it's cold where i am)
