Something about an 'orge exeception' Particlesystem template with the name 'watersplash' already exists. in
I had just downloaded a meshes package...and now it won't let me in FH. PLEASE HELP
I've tried uninstalling it, then re-installing it. It did the same thing...
-
Most likely duplicates of that particle.
Look at the ogre error and which name it says there.
Then go into your FH particle folder and look for one with the same name.
-
I did that..but none of them had the same name.it mostly just said water and splash..but thats it :I
-
But no duplicates
-
Where exactly did you put these meshes?
and you can modify posts as well xD
-
All I did was save the folder in exports. Then I opened it and copy&paste into exports
-
Remove what you just added to the exports folder and you should be ok. Possibly ask the creator of the mesh pack what would be needed to avoid an error like this. Especially if this was the way instructed to do.
-
OK I'l try it! thank you.
-
Ok...I mae progress..but no FH.
ORGE EXCEPTION(5:ItemIdentityException): OverlayElement with name SplashScreen/Loading not found. in
OverlayManager::getOverlayElementImpl at
c:/Ogre_161_tag\OgreMain\src\OrgeOverlayManager.cpp (line 593)
Thats exactly want it said, I deleted everything in that folder. EVERYTHING.
-
Everything in the exports folder yes? Not anywhere else, cause if so you'd have to ensure what it is you deleted so it was just the files you added to the game.
The error now is something about it not being able to find a loading screen picture which all games should have, I'm not sure I find any other explanation that you possibly deleted it just now. If other game files would be affected when someone just deletes content that were never in the game in the first place I'd be surprised.
To save yourself the trouble, a consideration about reinstalling FH completely would probably not be so bad.
The file I think you're missing now is
C:\FeralHeart\media\materials\splashscreen.material or possibly .overlay files or pictures in which it uses, noone of them are located in the exports folder though so how this happened I'm not sure.
Checkup if splashscreen.material exists in the given location above, and if it does. I'd reinstall FH if I were you, just making sure you'd make copies of your maps and presets somewhere so you can add it to the new game.

OK Thanks
-
I uninstalled it and when I tried to download it, it said "the setup files are corrupted.please obtain a new copy of the program" I mean COME ON.
-
You need a new copy of the installer then, no other way really. I'd suggest downloading the installers by torrent. Both the game and patch since it always checks up on the installer to prevent corrupted/broken installers.
-
Sorry. Now how do I download a torrent? e.e
-
go to utorrent.com
Download the utorrent program/client and install it.
Go to our official download page and click the torrent links both for the game installer and the patch installer.
Wait for the program to reach 100%
Install FH
