how do you get wings on the regular FH? i see people with them but i have no idea how to get them

In the character creation screen there was a new tab added, where you can find wings. If you are trying to get them on an existing character you just need to go to the character selection screen and edit that character.

Wing color is changed the same way you do marking or eye colors.
