Title: Item Help, Please?
Post by: GracieGirl23 on January 24, 2012, 11:08:22 pm
Hello!
Seeing as the Game Server was down, I began messing around with my W.I.P Maps, Presets, ETC. However, whilst I was doodling on my presets, I wondered: Just how exactly do you make items?

Are Items something the public can make? I believe so...?
Any willing help?

Thanks so much!

If you are asking how to make objects there is a manual on it under the "Manual" tab above.

Uaa, nope. Not Objects, Items. Equitable ones. Not Map Objects. :) Unless we're really thinking of the same thing. o.O Lol. But I'll check the Manual for what I'm looking for just in case.

Ok, i think i know what you are saying. You want to know how to make things such as hats, wings, etc right? Youtube is filled with videos about that.

Yes! Hats and etc. :) Like the items on I.T. Wings I've already mastered through presets, LOL, but it hasn't occurred to me to check the almighty YouTube, thank-you!

Well, first you'd need to make/convert a 3D model for OGRE use, aka making it a .mesh file.
That's the easy part if you have the right programs. Blender's good to use and free, but it's a mess for new users. I, for one, got myself the trials for AC3D, which works very well for this.

As for getting the models in-game, that's the hard part. You'll need to get the meshes the right size for the models, then you have to code them into the item.CFG file, which takes up a considerable amount of time getting it just right.
