Title: simple and quick question about layers

i was wondering how you hide a certain layer in gimp?im trying to make a map

if you can help,i would be happy  ;D

In GIMP, look at the top where it says "File," "Edit," and all that. Click the one towards the end that says "Windows," then click, "Dockable Dialogs" and then click "Layers." A window will pop up. This is where you can control the layers. To hide a layer, click on the eye next to the layer name.
