Make sure it's in greyscale, this is a common mistake and it has to be 513x513
Also, I would count ''have you looked over the manual'' as a stupid comment, the manual was recently updated and the info is more helpful.
Make the hieghtmap in GIMP or Photoshop, Make sure it is GREYSCALE. For GIMP, go to Image, Then mode, And hit Greyscale, then save it. The size must be 513x523.It is greyscale and the right size. I did put it in Terrains and it is a PNG.
For Photoshiop im not sure how to do this.
Also, Heres a mistake i made for my first map. The Hieghtmap must go into C:/FeralHeart/Media/Terrains NOT your maps folder inside terrains. NOT in pictures. also, it MUST be PNG.
I've had this problem before, and when I asked for help on it, here's what I was told to do:
Open up the heightmap
click Save As, s ave it as a .jpeg image
Click save as, save it as a .png again
Say yes to write it over if it asks if you want to replace it if there's already a .png of that image in your folder
Go in game, type in your heightmap, make sure that it ends in .png
It should work if you do that. If not, I dunno what to tell you; It worked for me.
Hope this helped!
Did you make sure it was a .Png image? And it ended in Terrain? Example; RandomTerrain.png {Don't forget the .Png!}Yes, I did. I named it "StoneclanTerrain.png"
I had this same problem too. If you have any like say... You have a medium grey color, then put a white shape fully filled there with no gradual decline of color. Try replacing the white with a less whiter color.
I did this and it started working again. c: Make sure to keep a backup of your origional heightmap though!
another way to fic the problem is copying and pasting the original height map in a new 513.513 grayscale map and giving it a whole different name. this fixes my problems sometimesThanks! This worked for me. Good tip.
