Title: Downloaded Warrior Cat Map VERY Laggy?
Post by: CalliCat1113 on February 12, 2012, 10:24:16 pm
Okay. Here are the things I have tried to resolve this problem:

1. Switch rendering system/subsystem to 3Direct

2. Turn the view distance to 0

3. Turn off water reflection

4. Made chat font small as it can be

5. Deleted all maps that are not in use

6. Made FH run on a separate processor

A Warrior Cat RP map that I downloaded is very laggy when I enter it. I have to look down at the ground to go anywhere without idoling or stopping when I am moving. I just can't seem to kick the lag out of this map's snail-self. I would like to RP in it as it has been dead for a long time now and me and a friend are trying to revive it. I could have sworn I have been in it before- OFF TOPIC. I just need help on how to kill the lag. And it is only on this map. It is very detailed, but why is that effecting it????

I don't think you can do anything, the more meshes the map has, the more laggy it is. So if it's very detailed, I wouldn't be surprised if it lags.

Awww, man. I was wondering if maybe it was something else.. but here's the thing: no one else in the map is lagging!!!! It has to be me!!

How about your computer itself? All of those things you listed should improve the smoothness of the gameplay for anyone. However though, if it's a map with a lot of objects in it, even custom meshes etc it WILL lower your performance.

It all depends on how powerful your PC is. If you do not lag in other more plain maps it would be a rather safe bet to say that it's the computer that has issues keeping up with the game.

a good place to start with fixing this could be a better graphics card, for sure. if your processor is as powerful as I think it is, then the processor shouldn't be the problem. I had a lot of problems with fh and it when I had a bad graphics card.

The processor is really the bottleneck in a game like FH and non the less if it's a map filled with objects.

it could also depend on how much download your computer has, my cousin's computer is very quick because it has over a hundred gigs of download space, mines slower because it only has 4, so maybe if you clean some more things out, or you get some more space, it may just work, but other than that, there probably isn't anything you can do sorry.

Aww. Thank you guys though. This thing is a HP Slimline Vista. -_-  Not a gaming computer. I also have A LOT. And I mean A LOT. Of crap on it. That is probably why it is slow. Plus all the objects and meshes. Thank you guys!

I know that some maps have things like herbs and such. Perhaps there's some file that would be lessen the lag by deleting it. I know that it's helped me in quite a few maps. However. Just make sure that you ask the map owner if you can do that first, if you even want to attempt it. And even then, make a copy first, because if it makes no difference, you might as well have it included.

I left the RP, but the file is called WarriorMapII. Try searching for it on Mediafire, go in it one day and see if anyone's there. If there is, ask if you can join the RP and that good ol' Juncofur sent ya. ;) Other than that, thanks for your ideas and help ^^
