When I tried to export a map, it exported successfully, but once I closed and reopened Feralheart, it crashed every time I opened it! I had to re-install it two times because of this problem! I know how to share on Mediafire already (but do you need an account on it, because I don't have one), Any suggestions? Because I'd love to share some of my awesome maps with you guys! Thanks!

A glitch the map maker can get very often if not all the time?
Go into your C:\FeralHeart\media\particles folder.
Inside of it, there should be particles with the name _01 _02 in them. These are copies of an already existing particle. Remove these from the folder and then run the game.
-
I looked in the particles and it had no _01 and _02 in it. Just the StarAura, Watersmoke, and Watersplash. It still crashes! Help? xD

Remove the maps in your "exports folder"(as in moving the files in there away temporarily but keep them as backup) then try to run the game again.
if that fails open your ogre.cfg with notepad and change your rendering mode to the one NOT selected.
-
Well, I have no maps in my exports because I don't know how to download maps (everyone's gotta start somewhere!), and when I open ogre.cfg with notepad how do I change the rendering mode? Sorry, I'm just, a.... dunnoanything :P
-
If you export a map inside the game and you say it's exported successfully, it goes into the exports folder. You do not only place your downloaded maps there, the ones you create goes there as well.
You change the rendering mode by changing the top row it says
Render System=
after the = you add the rendering mode you want to run the game with.
If it says "OpenGL Rendering Subsystem" you remove it and write "Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem" instead. Or if Direct3D is there, you add openGL instead etc.
Then save the notepad and try to run the game.
If that fails it's most likely some object/mesh you added to your game that causes it to crash since you already told you checked the exports folder and particles.
In that case remove all the content in C:\FeralHeart and then install the game again.
If it doesn't work after that you're simply doing something wrong.
-
Ok, thanks, I'll try that! c:
-
When I had the crash error it was because of libstdc++.dll or something like that.
-
Well, I'm going to export a map now, wish me luck...
-
Alright, it's exporting, wish me luck.. .-.

Staraura cannot be found? ugh

You need to update your C++ library on your computer.
It requires a version that's up to date in order to run the game on your computer at all, that along with DirectX.
C++ libraries should get updated along with windows update if it's done frequently.
Also please edit your posts instead of double posting etc.
-
They exported successfully, but I haven't closed and reopened Feralheart yet...
And sorry about doubleposting. xD
How do I update C++ Runtime Library? Can you give me a link to the download?
Oh, btw I love your maps, but when I tried to download the map pack installer, my virus protector said it had a virus. :(
...........................................................
So do I re-open Feralheart now?
-
Alright, since you exported your maps successfully I should quote this earlier post.
A glitch the map maker can get very often if not all the time?
Go into your C:\FeralHeart\media\particles folder.
Inside of it, there should be particles with the name _01 _02 in them. These are copies of an already existing particle. Remove these from the folder and then run the game.
This happens very often if not all the time for some when exporting maps. If your game keeps crashing after you exported a map, look the quote up and do what it says.
-
it crashed T.T What am I doing wrong? Now I have to Re-install the WHOLE GAME again *rage*
-
Oh! I see what you mean! The particle _01 thing! I'll delete them.
Sorry about doubleposting, I keep forgetting :(
OHMYGOSH it worked! Thank you SO much for helping me! :D

Stay safe lol

OMIGOD. NO particle 0_1 or whatever. IT FREAKING CRASHED AGAIN WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOOO D''x
-
In addition to what Red stated, you may also want to check your objects folder for doubles as well, as certain particle meshes like to double up as well.
