Title: Creating Meshes?
Post by: monkyaround1999 on February 24, 2012, 05:46:48 pm
I'm making a huge warrior cats map, but I see I'm gonna need to create some meshes to get everything I want. Does anyone know of a good mesh-making program that I could use?

People seem to like Blender. Maybe because it's free. There's a tutorial in the member made tutorials on how to use it.

I've got Blender already. I have no idea how to save it as a .mesh file though, it always saves as .blend.

Hm. Try looking at the tutorial. I think it touches on that. I'll try looking around too. Hopefully someone who can be of more help to you will post.

Argh, I found a tutorial on Feralheart but my version of blender is too new to do it. It uses an OGRE exporter, but they haven't updated for 2.5 or 2.6 yet.

What i tend to do now is create the meshes on my Blender (2.59) then save it. Then using Blender 2.49 i load it on there and use the exporter to export.

Im unsure if this will work for the latest 2.6 but you can export to a .txml then convert it to a .mesh with another ogre mesh exporter. No window with options and tools will show though.
