This would really help reduce lag in maps! And if you ever go AFK and come back to find someone ''Raping'' you,
So lets say you are AFK for more than an Hour, you will be disconnected from the server untill you log back in! It would really reduce lag because people in Bonfire Island and especially Flourite Plains tend to have alot of Idle players that would just cause lag to our maps! This is just an Idea but what do you think?
It wouldn't be a ban or a kick! Just like that idle kick you get in Transformice ''You have been AFK for too long D:'' You can just log back in if you find you have been gone for too long.

Because of my crappy connection, my game does this to me anyway.
But I think the idle kick thing could be a good idea. And maybe even an hour would be too long. I think a half hour of idleness would be warrant enough for the boot. You're right, there are a lot of people who just idle in the public maps, (myself included) and in populated areas, it does create lag.
However, I can see how a certain group of users wouldn't want this. Seeing as they have to be in-game but may have to multitask on other things. Such as, monitoring a forum? I think it'd be a win-lose situation when considering the entirety of the game's population.

Exactly as to why i go afk off and on, not to mention at times i go afk, i tell my group to pm if they have a concern or issue they wanna discuss and let me know while i afk. I cant afford to be logged off and those messages being wiped. But smart idea as it is, some idlers sit there for what seems almost a day! Perhaps a time setting a player can set so if they afk to long they can be logged out of game as they wish.

I kind of think it's pointless because by the time the kicks activated you may already be out of that location & wouldn't have to worry about extra lag from that specific player. Not to mention the fact that players in motion cause a lot more lag than idle ones. You lag because the animation, not the fact that a player is just sitting there. I for one idle quite often but that's usually due to the fact that I'm doing something else for the time being but intend to still be logged on when i return.
Ouka makes a good point as well. A lot of people scroll through the messages to see if someone was attempting to contact them while they were AFK. If you automatically get logged out you will no longer be able to view the chat from your previous session. That could make an even larger problem for people also in the same boat as Ouka.
It could have its ups & downs, but that's just my perspective on the idea.

I am idle in game for long periods at a time, because while I am modding the chat I have my FH half screen with the chat dragged over to cover the whole window, and then I'm on the forum or surfing on the other half of the screen. I know a couple other people who have more than one monitor that stick FH in one and do other things in the other.
I know not everyone just sits there and watches the chat, but I do know a lot of people who are still playing, but not doing a whole lot, or go AFK for dinner during a roleplay and would like the chat log to be there when they get back.

Thats why I wanted it to be about an hour or so, even if it's only that long, it will help stop lag in maps, especially to RPing players in the map!

People coming pack to the map would probably cause more lag then them being idle. There will be a ton of people just logging back in after being kicked off...
It isn't a bad idea, but I don't think it would have a big impact on lag. What really needs to happen to fix the lag problem is Flourite plains need to be taken out and replaced with several more maps.

I dont really think one member sitting around doing nothing will cause so much lag that Its unbearable.
