I thought this would be useful for people in-game who hate Mate Beggers, if someone wouldn't mind could they make a character called MATE CENTER. Because my brother on a char had a lioness copy what age he was which made me think 'Mate Begger..' and i get annoyed when this happens. I would like it if there was a Mate center online everyday, it would be helpful to mate beggers and people who are starting to want mates. So if anyone wouldnt mind, could they make a mate center and go on it everyday, please? :)

Sorry but I disagree with this idea because i know that it might stop mate-beggers but it may be more of a dating service and because this might be a bait for rapers so people can get "rapped". also, people can't be on every single day, they have lives and there is already a mate thread somewhere in the fourms. (not trying to be mean, I'm just saying)

maby not so much a person playing as a point for the mate center just posibly make a little chat desinged for advertising mate begs? like how general chat works but posibly world wide but you can still toggle it on/off so that people dont need to spam videos or the general or local chat and they dont have to be around competition with other players who are mate begging.

  It wouldn't stop mate beggars at all, you actually see people doing this, but people just mate beg any way. Any way, that's what the mate search section of the forums is for really.

 ya i like idea (becuase i need a mate) but i think it wrong to have a mate center and stephen99 is right they might "rapping us"

Feral Heart is'nt a dating site, I disagree with this idea. And although it may stop "Mate begging", It will cause MANY other problems, Rape, as Stephen said, and lots of other ones.

I disagree with this idea for the reasons stated above;

1. It would not be sensable for someone to be stuck to that role.

2. It could make Feral Heart out to be a "dating service". Upon which it is not.

3. Like Kyugami said, there is a Mate Search Section on the forums.

4. Alex may not be too far off on the chat seperation. Creating an advertising chat; which could be branched between roleplays and mates, in-game, would cease out some general chat "spam" as people refer to it, when people "beg" or even ask for mates.

I fail to see the point of a Mate Center. Assuming someone does create one, there's no guarantee anyone would go to them and listen to them. And as Kyu said, there is a mate section (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&board=8.0) for people to find mates.

This has already been happening on the game, specifically in Bonfire Island as I'm sure people are aware of. I really don't have an issue with people asking for mates. It's not 'mate begging' if it's a simple advertisement in General, because that's all it is. An advertisement. If it weren't, that'd be saying that asking for a pack would be 'pack begging' and so on. I regularly see 'mate advertisements' flamed by other people by shouting 'MATE BEGGER OOOOO< SHOOT IT', and 'plz dn't m8 beg tx' Really? Grow up.
On the other hand, persistently asking someone to be their mate is considered harrassment and is against the rules, which can easily be dealt with.

Back to the 'idea', I think it's perfectly adaquete so long as people don't take it seriously. Although some do, and this is usually the younger minority of FeralHeart's members. Everyone else has mates? That must mean I have to have one, too! It's up to YOU, the FeralHeart community to guide these members and show them the ropes, don't just point the finger and go haywire as the majority tend to do. And it's all fine and dandy that there's a mate section on the forums, but a large percentage of members probably fail to acknowledge that. There've been 'adoption' centers before, and they've worked fine. The same can apply with 'mate centers' when it comes to looking for someone to roleplay with as a 'mate' so long as people act maturely about it. I don't really see an issue otherwise, it's all good so long as things stay within the rules.

Edit: And if it happens to cause trollers to 'rape'... Then well, isn't that a good thing? These people must be sussed out and kicked off the site and game for good. Everyone who has read Raz's thread should already know about that.

I'm pretty sure both work. I wouldn't know, though, as I don't go around asking people if they've ever managed to get a mate through General. The mate search section has a fair amount of replies, so I'm muchly doubting if it "doesn't work".

Both work fine. General works less than the mate search section though, a lot of people tend to not find their mates again after they get them if they advertise in general, but one of my characters was able to get a mate through the mate search section.

Omg NO !
I cant make a single step without get raped.
I made it on top to Sky Rim and maked a  happyness dance then 2 random pll startet to lay under me..i tryed to get them away. Then they raped another person.

I Agree and also disagree with this idea. Ive already seen the mating center out there. Its already being used, although its great because it reduces the amount of mate begging/Mate spamming. Its also a very bad idea because... Feralheart is not a dating site its simply a friendly rping site.

I'd think a chat for the creeps who mate-beg would be more appropriate. A mate 'centre' would make FeralHeart seem somwhat like an internet dating site.

Psh,people! Just make an effort and find someone your compatible with! Itll work better and probably reduce the begging. Find a great friend, usually they turn out to be a great mate. if you were to be given a mate by matemaker, the chances of being happy are 10%. just a suggestion :)

Yeah. No. A player should have to earn their mate through Rp, as many RPs just end up being. Dramafests.

Of course, i made an RP on this cause though. Everyone is completely literate and no begging or raping of any sort. Pretty simple.

Thus leading me to the idea of possibly a more romantic map ( An RP Only area; No chatting/OOC) that people who want a mate can go and RP and find one? :3

...In game I found a mate center where they were pairing everyone up and each pair had to...well yeah. It turned into one of the ugliest things I've ever seen on bonfire...and I've seen a lot of ugly things.

To be honest, the first time I ever saw a 'Mate Center' in Bonfire, I rolled my eyes. XD Then I told my friend about it, and she said "Oh, God no. x.x".

I don't support this, truthfully. Most recently, the closest I've come to having a mate in FH is the roleplays I've been having with my friends. One of their characters and mine would be showing romantic interests for one another, and we'd all laugh/joke/gush about it OOC like it's some crack/romance pairing in a famous fandom, or something. XD We didn't think of the characters as US. We, in a sense, considered them very real beings in a book that we were all writing together.

But, to get back on topic, I refuse to believe FH is turning into a dating service for people to come on with their only intention to become someone's 'mate'. In a certain way, I find it very close-minded of some people. If you meet someone OOC who's personality happens to interest you in a... certain way... (I've been there ;3) then great! I know there's no way to stop what's going on, but all the same, that's my opinion.

And another thing, before I forget: The... the problems with 'rape' on here? Anyone who has been on Impressive Title way back when, including myself, could say that that has always been going on. FH didn't just start that new, vulgar trend.
But in my personal opinion, I don't think it's that big of a deal when dragged into a game like this. I mean, the subject matter is a big deal, no doubt, and I'm sure several people on here don't like to think about that sort of thing when they go on to play a supposedly innocent game.

But if you're mature enough, and you're not the type to get disturbed over it, then I don't see why that should make you want to report those people. If you think about it, all they're doing is making their model stand over your's and turning on a built-in simulation for the model to do on cue. Perhaps they throw in a few filthy remarks in the chat, but that's about it.

Maybe this is just me being my desensitized self again, not really getting all that offended by anything someone says or does online.

But anyway, I do believe many here have good points of their own. :D

(And by the way: I do apologize for any miss-spellings/stuff that doesn't make any sense in this post. I'm excruiatingly tired right now. DX )

EDIT; Okay, because I foresee a large amount of bashing heading my way for what I just previously said, let me take the time to say that I wasn't kidding when I said I was half asleep when I wrote it out, and I'd like to rephrase myself.

People who 'rape' others need to get reported, no doubt. But not for their computer-generated actions. The only reason they should get reported is for their disgusting state of mind in thinking something like that is funny. We don't need people like that on here.

It gets on my nerves, however, to know that stuff like that annoys people. And not the type of annoyance sparking from this thread (the annoyance that knows better), but the victims themselves. This is where what I mentioned in my previous post comes to play; No one should take in-game, non-literate 'rapists' seriously. They're not worth anyone's time.

If someone comes up to you in-game and, as they say, starts 'raping' you, you can quite easily block them, or get up and walk away. You don't have to just sit there, complain about how disgusted you are, and quite plainly whine. It's a free world, and it's not like you're rooted to the spot. XD

Now, I think that sums up my second point a little better.

There is already 'ADOPTION CENTER' 'MATCH MAKERS' and stuff like that already that spam the chat box till it's dead. >.> I wouldn't mind so much about the 'ADOPTION CENTERS' though, more the match makers. You really don't need to beg for mates, you get them naturally by being nice to people etc. etc. etc. (Not going to into much detail) So the mate center is a no need. This would probably increase the number of mate beggers, sorry to say.

I personally disagree, because as many have already stated, rape and other problems would appear. Actually, I saw one of these in bonfire today and sat down without knowing. I got about 5 different people asking me to be their mate. And in all honesty, Feralheart was made for RPing, NOT to be a virtual animal dating game.

The insta-hatred everyone collectively holds against these so-called mate beggars sometimes makes me worry about the community a little, y'all...
Now,
don't get me wrong.
As a seasoned roleplayer, I understand that going into a real RP, and writing out the story between your character and their prospective mate is the absolute best (and cutest) way to develop this storyline between characters. Your mate will be more likely to stick around, your characters will be able to reminisce together, to understand one another in action and dialog throughout the story, and it's much deeper than the 'insta-mating' we see so often.
So, I'm not saying I'm for the Mate Centers and insta-mating at all.
However, at the risk of being the devil's advocate, I think it'd be nice to shed a little light on why (I think) these individuals who get the 'mate beggar' label do what they do.
***Keep in mind here that I'm not talking about the randoms who are looking for some creepy roleplaying that ought not be seen in the light of day, if you know what I mean. I'm not talking about those screaming "I NEED A MATE" spammers, the caps locking Mate Centers of a similar chatbox spamming style, nor the stalking types who think that having charries that are mates think that the accounts are officially and exclusively 'mated', and I ain't even going into the buttswing corner. Grodygross.***

Anyway... So why would somebody even want a mate from the Mate Center?
Well, imagine you're new to FH, and roleplaying altogether. You don't know anybody in the community, and you just kinda wish you had somebody to pal around with, when you're unsure of how to approach one of those huge packs or prides. Then, I guess in that case it would just be sort of nice to go, choose and be chosen by somebody at a Mate Center.
Sure, then I guess it'd be nice to just be placed with a new friend, to have somebody to snuggle and derp around with. Assuming they don't disappear off the face of the planet after the first day, it'd be somebody you can see online and go join them, or at least say hi, because you know they'd be there to greet you warmly and be your buddy to hang out with. Even if the characters that were mates don't stick together, you've still made a new buddy.
Or, at least that's how most would hope it would go. My point here is that these guys are just trying to find someone to RP with like the rest of us, even if they're going about it in a different way.

So, don't go around hating on everybody who sits in a Mate Center circle. >.> That's not what this community is about.
And, nor is it some kind of dating site, as mentioned above. So no, making someone sit there on a Mate Center character all day, every day, is a no-go, especially if there's a Mate Search on the forums. Plus, there's almost always a Mate Center out there in Bonfire, so all you've gotta do is look around.

Lulz. There's my rant. Overview:
- Finding a roleplay to join and writing out the storyline is the best way to choose a mate for your characters. They'll stick around, more than likely, even if it does take a little while to get the initial storyline rolling.
- If you want to do the insta-mate thing, anyway, just go look around for a Mate Center. Somebody's always out there.
- And either way, don't sit there and hate on somebody for the way in which they choose to make their storylines. So long as they're not breaking any rules or being meaniefloofs, then let 'em be.

No. It may seem like a good idea at first but this is actually encouraging the 'I need a mate' mindset. It really is annoying.
