Title: Help with maps
Post by: Starnight1998 on March 17, 2012, 12:42:26 am
I understand how it works and such... BUT WHERE DO I HAVE TO SAVE THE MAP FOR IT TO SHOW UP???
I'm trying for hours and my FH crashes down every time. What should I do?

Save it in exports as a .png

Save the Height map as (mapname)Terrain.png

Save the Mask as (mapname)Mask.png

Adding on what Brittany said, If you want your character to be on a map you created then press exports while making your map or when your map is done and the portal to the map will show up at cape of disent worlds.

~Brittany~ I would have to disagree with where you save it to, I save mine to media>terrains

You then go to map maker>world: Under terrains open: <mapname>Terrain.png    and for the mask go under the Mask: <mapname>Mask.png

Doesn't work either... maybe I'm doing something else wrong?

Oh right.  Thanks for correcting me, Matthew.  I'm such a tard.  Star, before you even start drawing it out, it must be 512 x 512.  The height map must be grayscale and the mask map must be RGB color.

Also, you need to have a paint program like Gimp or photoshop.

You are welcome, and ~Brittany~ I disagree once again it needs to be 513x513, I thought?
