Hey everyone,
I have almost completed the website and this forum, though things (such as the rules) are still going to be changing a lot in the next few days. I have decided to open it for applications now, although we will not start to RP for a few weeks yet (the map isn't complete). But I thought that I may as well gather together a few members to start with :)
For Alphas, I am specifically looking for active members both here and in-game, and who will be able to come on frequently, help me out, and who are trusted and responsible.
If you are looking to become an Alpha, this is what you will be doing:
~Being a very active member in the RP
~Be willing to recruit, advertise, etc. until we get numbers up, and even after that
~Helping out both on this thread and the website
~Offer advice to members, and other staff
~Be a valuable member to the team! ^^
It is for those reasons hat for Alphas I will only accept members with over 100 posts and Karma not in the negative. This is simply so I can be sure you are going to be active, and responsible. Other than that, I will consider anyone, so if you would like to be an Alpha for the Lignum (forest) or Ancra (valley) packs, just apply on this thread :)
To the other members that wish to join as other positions, you are also most welcome to apply now :)

?ALPHA?
Alpha- The two leaders of the pack. Their word is law, and they make all of the vital decisions for their wolves. They are the strongest wolves of the pack. There is a male and female alpha.
?BETA?
Beta- The two co-leaders of the pack. This is an unofficial position, filled by the next strongest wolves of the pack. They are hunting for the alphas' position, but are still loyal to them and the pack. They help to organise and rally the wolves. There is a male and female beta.
?LIGHT-READER?
Light-reader- They are the mystics of the pack. They have the ability to read the Auroras, and can interpret messages from the heavens. They are also gifted in the arts of healing.
?WARRIOR?
Warrior- They are the adult, middle ranked wolves who's charge it is to fight for and defend the pack. They tend to be sturdier, thickset wolves that are better at brute force and strength. They are generally the male wolves.
?HUNTER?
Hunter- They are the adult, middle ranked wolves whose charge it is to find food for the pack. They are leaner and better suited to running than Warriors. Generally they are the female wolves.
?APPRENTICES?
Apprentice- The wolves in training to be warriors or hunters. They mainly consist of the juvenile wolves, but can also be older outsiders accepted into the pack.
?CUBS?
Cub- The wolf pups of the pack. They are dependent on their mothers and the rest of the pack. Provided they are healthy and strong, they are ranked above Omegas. They are between the ages of 0-8 months.
?OMEGAS?
Omega- The lowest ranked of the pack, even below the pups. They are little above outcasts, and are mainly shunned by the pack. They usually include the injured, weak, elderly or dependant wolves. They are often attacked or injured by their pack mates if they do not show the right amount of respect.

?While friendships and relationships are allowed to be made between packs, all wolves must put their own pack first.?
?The Alphas and Betas are only allowed to be mated to the same ranking. To do otherwise is to risk usurping your position to other strong wolves.?
?Any wolves may challenge the alphas or betas, as long as they are in a realistic capable position to do so. (Not injured, an omega, etc)?
?Wolves are not to kill each other over ranks. (Unless agreed upon by both players)?
?Omegas are not to have mates, even with other another Omega.?
?Omegas must always eat last, and act appropriatly to their rank.?
?A failiure to follow these rules result in a punishment, to be decided by the alpha.?

A few of the ideas used in this RP were inspired by a few different books. The Wolves of Time series, by William Horwood (The most AMAZING books ever), The Warriors series, by Erin Hunter, and the Wolves of the Beyond series, by Kathryn Lasky.

Please choose original names for your characters. We don't want three "Fluffy" wolves running around o3o. A suggestion is use Latin. A few of the character and place names in this RP are Latin.
?Size?
For realism's sake, we don't want pups bigger than the apprentices now, do we? So please try to stick generally to this, but remember it is only a guideline, not vital.

?Presets?
Presets are more than welcome, I actually preffer them. If accepted, post your download link under the "Presets" Board in the "Downloads" category on the Rivers of Light Website (http://riversoflight.proboards.com/). Keep your presets within the following guidelines though, please.
?Colour?
The three packs are different wolf species, so please stick to the appropriate colouring. There is, however, some genetic variation within the packs, so again, these are only a guide. But please keep the majority of wolves within the colour range. Also, if you are a pup, please stay relative to your parent's colourations.
?Fur?
Glaciem Pack: Whites, greys, blues. -Arctic Wolves
Lignum Pack: Blacks, dark browns, dark greys. -British Colombian Wolves
Ancra Pack: Russets, reds, browns. -Timber Wolves

There is no restriction on eye colour or type. Have fun! ^^
?Markings?
Please try to keep your markings realistic. We don't have tiger striped wolves running around in Alaska now, do we? And scars are allowed.
?Wings, manes and items?
No wings whatsoever, please. Manes/Tufts are allowed. Items, unless they make your wolf look more realistic, (ears, tail) are not allowed either.
