So I've been trying for over an hour to get the installations to work. They finally did and I now have the game. But when I open up the game and after it goes past the little box with the data and settings box either I only see a dried grass colored screen and hear the game music and nothing else at all or the game box itself just closes and doesn't re-open. No ogres pop up saying there's an error. I checked the Ogre.cfg and Render Sysetm=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem is already there and 100% correct. I have uninstalled and re-installed the game completely 7 times. I already check out the help thread page ( http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=10423.0 (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=10423.0) ) and can't find anything to really answer my problem. Someone please help before I go crazy please x.x

Hmmm.
The only thing that I can think of is to change your render method, or play with some of the other options that come up in the options box.

Render method? If you mean the torrent download I've tried the torrent way but it wouldn't work. I did the 50mb or whatever download. I'd prefer not to do the 100+ MB download but I shouldn't have to anyway correct?
And I have played with the other options, still no luck T-T

No no, by Render method I mean choosing the options in the Options Box that appears. One of the options is the render method, OpenGL and another one (which has slipped my mind). Sometimes changing between the two can fix issues that are visual, which it sounds this might be.
I wouldn't think that downloading the other way would have any effect. You might be better to try downloading FH+ as well, and see if that has the same effect.
Another possibility is that your graphics card drivers arre outdated, you can get updates from their websites.

I only have OpenGL Rendering Subsystem as an option, when the box drops down that's the only option there is.
FH+ is a lot of MB..but I'll try it to see if it works.
Well my computer is older but it handles WolfQuest and it's graphics pretty well. I wouldn't think this would be much different.

You can change your rendering system manually by going into the Feral Heart folder. The CFG. file needs to be edited. Just change the script in that file.
I don't advise downloading FH+. If regular FH isn't working for you, there's absolutely no way FH+ will, seeing as in its current state, it requires you switching to the regular Feral Heart to move around characters.

Okay but what do I change the text to exactly? o.o;
Yeah I noticed it said somehting about switching characters and such.

Argh. I'm not at home so I don't exactly remember... Have you at least found the cfg file? Open it up and copy and paste what it says?

There's no actual CFG file, there's a cg.ll file and I tried opening it and the code inside was all crazy so I assume that's not it. If I open the ogre file I get this:
Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=None
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
VSync=No
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
Do you mean that?

Hmr... I wanna say you change the line where it says
Render System= Open GL Redering Subsystem
to Direct2D9 Rendering Subsystem... I'd honestly feel better if you'd ask Red. I think he's online, you should try PM'ing him.

I don't know who Red is o.o;; Is that is username or part of it..?

Well I sent him a PM asking if the Render System=Direct2D9 Rendering Subsystem is correct and such but it said he was offline. I've been trying for a long time to get the game to work x.x I was up until 2am trying to figure it out.

Well he replied but he only gave me the link to the big help thread, oh and its Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem, it said it lower on the page and I entered that and this is how it currently looks:
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=None
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
VSync=No
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
But when I open the game it won't even open the settings box before the actual game now..

That's straight out of my game file. Try that.
EDIT: Even know... I don't think that may work, seeing as its using my Rendering... Argh. Hold on, I'll keep looking for a solution.

He said my game is probably faulty .-. Well I've uninstalled and reinstalled it over 10 ten times now..I'm not sure how every one of the downloads could be faulty.
I tried changing a few settings to yours, still nothing comes up after the data window box pops up and loads. After it finishes loading and closes no settings box comes up let alone the game x.x
Thank you, I hope I'm not a bother to you at all, I apologize if I am.
-
Let's start completely over... Delete everything Feral Heart related. Download the lastest setup (again, I'm sorry) and the latest patch. (I know it says you don't need it, but just precautions).
This should take us back to the rendering problem again... Like the terrains being messed up. When installing, have absolutely NOTHING else up. It may be interfering with the install...
You're no bother, I have to go to work in about fifteen minutes though, so I won't be able to help you again till later. Maybe someone who actually knows what the heck they're talking about can help you. Though I'll continue to try and assist.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!!! He said that there shouldn't be a double Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem at the top for me so I changed the second one to OpenGL Rendering Subsystem and it works!!!! Oh thank you so so so soooo much Cloud >w< May I add you as a friend please? You went out of your way to help my nooby self and I really appreciate it.

Oh good. Glad it's working! What he said kinda makes sense now, that I think about it. And yeah, of course you can. Though, I think Red deserves the credit for fixing your problem.
