Hey, I am trying to make a map. I have made the height map and the terrain masks; I am now trying to export my map to the game.
This is what I have done so far:
Made Height map
Made Terrain mask
Opened FH and gone into map maker, named my map and have saved.
Typed in land.png in the height map spot and mask.png in terrain mask spot...
It doesn't seem to be able to find my height map... I am using Gimp.

The first things I would check are that it has the correct name/directory listed, and that the file extensions (.png) match. If not, open your file again and confirm that it is in greyscale mode. These are general answers but I don't have any other solutions, sorry.

This may help, it's a thread for map making issues: (which may find the answers you need, if not then I'll try to find more ways to solve this)

Also, your terrain and mask files are in mycomputer-local disk-c:feralheart-media-terrain (If you have windows)

Okay, I am still having some difficulties. I type in map.png in the height map blank and then a box comes up saying windows has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Try naming your map something else (ex: warriors.terrain, mountain.terrain) and save it as png. You can also reread the manul of making a map. If you have a program like norton then turn that off and try redoing your map.

Okay, I changed it to neilo.terrain.png it worked once but when I tried to type in the terrain mask's name... terrain.mask.png it shut down... it wont let me type in the height mask anymore... I had made sure it is in grayscale...

That's odd, have you read the manual on maps? I'll try to find more answers soon as possible.

I have gone through that thing inside and out..lol
I am really appreciating your help! :)

Have you saved your Terrain map to your Terrains folder? after doing that go to map maker and load the terrain then save it, After doing that place your map Mask in the saved folder and then load the mask to the map. Hope that made sense, Take care hope you get it sorted!

I have tried that... it doesn't seem to be working

Can someone maybe give me a step by step... from the minute you finish your map. I must have missed something. I have made my map with Gimp and it is 305x315 it would not allow me to do 315x315. Can someone walk me through this...

To create a height map.
The file MUST be, with no exceptions:
513x513
Greyscale
One layer
PNG. File
No alpha channel.
