Post by: VioletCyrodiil on April 20, 2012, 10:57:51 pm
Ok, I found a heitgh map tutorial, followed the instructions to the letter and made a map. When i went to load it, FeralHeart crashed and I DID make sure it was in grayscale and I saved it as a PNG. Please someone help! It's getting a little frustrating...:P

Make sure it's;

PNG.
Greyscale
No alpha channel
One layer
513x513 pixels.

Save it as (MapNamehere)Terrain.png

Cloudfish, thanks so much. I thought it was supposed to be several layers, 'cause that's what the tutorial said to do and it worked for that person. And I was saving it as a random name, like "fhmap.png" so maybe that's why i was messing up. Anyways, thank you for the help!

No problem, glad it worked for you.

In the future, be sure to check some of the posts of the tutorial threads, some of them tend to be inaccurate in their information.

To take away the alpha channel, you right click the layer and choose remove alpha channel near the bottom of the options that are pulled up.
