So, I've just started a huge project that links several maps together, but when I tested it out on a regular character I found that the portals would drop me off at the top left corner of the map, which wouldn't be a problem if the map wasn't a cave. Is there anyway to designate where my character gets dropped off when entering another map or am I stuck with getting dropped off at random parts of the maps?

To link maps you use gates . These are added in the object tab. You then have to coordinate the coordinates.
Example:
if I wanted to link Farrah island to Terror Caverns, I'd add a gate to Farrah, the coordinates I would enter in that gates coordinate values would be where I enter from in the caverns. In theory, you need to have the coordinates of from where you want to enter beforehand.
This system works both ways, if you wanted to link cavern to island, for the gate, you'd have to know where you wanted it spits you out.

If your portal is too far away (or where u want it to spawn u when u enter map): https://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=19214.0%20newwindow (https://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=19214.0%20newwindow)
