Title: Help! My Heightmap Isn't Working Wnd I Need To Finish The Map By A Deadline!

I wus making a heightmap for my rp's map collection on GIMP 2.6. So, I finished it, and I tried to load into FH, and then FH froze and crashed. The heightmap was .png, had no Alpha Channel, gray scale, and 513x513. I haven't an idea wut happened cuz I loaded a heightmap with the mask on to teh game yeshterday. I could load the map's Mask just fine, but as soon as I tried loaded the heightmap FH crashed. HEELLLPP!!!

Try redoing your map and if that doesn't work thn try doing this:

did you put Terrain at the end of the map name when you finished? for example if the height maps name was "mymap" then you would save it as: mymapTerrain.png

Heightmaps must be:

513x513
png image
grayscale
NO Alpha Channel (if using gimp)


Double check for sure these are all on ur heightmap. Sometimes missing one is the simplest thing.

In addition to Ouka, height map must be one layer. It is usually the alpha channel bothering people though, since it's easy to miss.

I found that you need to start with a white background, NOT a transparent one.

Thank you for saying, but I know about the Alpha Channel!! I'll check about the transparent part thought cuz I think I missed that.

If you can not figure how to fix it, you can give me by email or a link your heightmap, and i can give you the heightmap fixed. Then i believe you will able to continue editing it.

Or if you want to begin again, i recomend you to take a copy of the height map of the default map and edit it.

Just save that picture, should work. You had an alpha channel.
