What does WIP mean? ive seen it a few times on topics.

It means "work in progress" referring to projects.

As Abigail said, it means work in progress. People put it up to either specify that the project isn't complete, as they also stated, OR they do not wish for anyone to post on the thread because they are still working on it and may need to put addition posts to contain any extra info that may not fit on the first post.
