Title: Play as other creatures besides lions and wolves

I would like to play as another type of four-legged thing. How about a four-legged tadpole Keronian? (I'm referring to Keroro Gunso).

I'm pretty sure there might be animal added in the future - but not til they get the basic game good-stuff up and running (yeah there's alot more coming soon ^.^)

I'm not sure what kind of animal I'd want, but a 3rd option would be kool I guess. :P Maybe a type of bird, or a horse? XD

Y'know I actually hope there are only canines and felines in this game. It's not that I don't like other animals, it's just that felines and canines are just FeralHearts' 'thing', y'know?

I like the just feline and canine thing, but perhaps they could have different types of canines and felines? because the customation for hyena's and such is pretty limited. So it wouldn't be new species exactly, but different types. That would be cool.

Had to point this out, It's a line of Aussies!

And I have been hoping for it as well. There needs to be a bit more customization so there can truly be a more diverse range of characters.

I'd personally like it to stay felines and canines, but wholeheartedly agree with different body types and pelt patterns and such. C:

I dunno, having 594645 different animals seems so confusing to me.. Also echoing above, if you were a horse or gazelle or something, wouldn't all the canines and felines hunt you? xD

I like Feral Heart with just canines and felines for some reason. I think there are a few other games that have 4-5 species to choose from, but remember, FH has only been out for about two weeks  ;)

@Kelsey Sanders - You could pretty much make that by making the snout as small as possible, and making the feline smaller. And I doubt they will make species like that on demand, since it's like people asking for their own creature to be added into the game. And they are trying to keep it realistic so...

And I like the idea of only feline and canine. You can make alot of things using that, and it's ALOT better then IT. Do remember this game is only in it's early stages, so there might be things added later on. Hunting, maybe pets again. PvP, stuff like that. At least, that's what I've heard and what I hope. Don't kill me if I'm wrong XD

I am thinking in the future, FH might have another species eventually added in. What, I have no clue. Maybe a rodent of some sort? A bird would be hard to do, and annoying, because they made the whole 'gravity' thing and got rid of wings to stop people easily getting right up to places straight away. And the whole thing with it flying up, flapping wings, whole new mesh.. Hmm, yeah. :(
A rodent would be quite cool, actually. Because you could make it be anything. Maybe different tails, to make rabbits, rats/mice, gerbils etc. I could see that working, but meh. Just an idea. They'd probably get hunted, but there is the whole 'canine vs feline' and felines eating pups, canines eating cubs thing going on so not much difference there.

Well, when they were making the game wasn't the reason for getting rid of wings to make it more realistic- I'm not saying they wanted it to be extreamly realistic, but I'm sure they said that somewhere.

And I dislike the idea of dragons in the game. It would only mean you'd get no felines or canines anymore just because there is a new species that everyone seems to want. There's arokai for that sort of thing, but this is Feralheart and dragons just seem... A bit out there :/

(When I said 'keep it realistic' I meant no flying canines and stuff. Not 'realistic' like wolfquest :X)

Well lets see, if it is saying on the realistic note, i say put in a type of bird like an owl or such.

If you wanted to go into cool mythical stuff i say put in either Dragons or Griffins.

My vote would be Owl and/or a Griffin. lol

if a new species were too be added to the game, I would vote for something like a bat or a bird of some sort. dragons would be alittle out of hand, since they would obviously over-populate the game and "attack" us little lions and canines. but really, I'd be okay with adding a few different ears and tails to the current meshes (and maybe different heads too toggle with) and calling it a day.

I think playing as birds or horses would be a hit for a LOT of people, though I like to play as only canines and felines. However, making more options for markings, ears, tails etc would be great. That along would give us more options for feline and canine species.
When I think of Wolves, felines AND other things like dragons, owls, deer and etc I think of Arokai or what ever. Which sounds awesome, but you know. I would personally go with adding anything. The more options the better, but if not that's fine.

 I think that FH should stick to the canine/feline theme. Seems more fitting for the name "Feralheart"
I'm looking forward to Arokai, and I think that if you want multiple species, Arokai is the game to look towards. Although, a Hyena mesh would be nice, also a bit of updates on the current canine/feline meshes.

that snoutless creature is cute :D but Kovu wanted Feral Heart to be more realistic, other wise we would have items, wings and stuff like that. Though I must admit that snoutless creature would be fun to play if you think of it lol

It could also have been because the meshes are so different to the IT ones, which were very TLK-ish. And also because a lot of really detailed and more accurate markings were being made.

Well you can customize the heads and everything, certainly a plus. And the running looks a whole lot better then it was in IT.

Back on topic, I think only canine and feline related animals should remain now. Just more choices to expand that. By that I mean more tails, ears etc.

What about, you could just have a large hoofed animal base, and you can change it to a deer or horse.

Only people who are roleplaying would need to hunt, or trolls.

But they'd be helpful for roleplays.

I like the hoof idea, although I just made a horse without the need of that, but it doesn't really look like a horse, so that's a great idea. :3

Anyway I think a bird such as an eagle or a falcon would be a good addition and I would also like to see a bear being playable.

To be honest, I always think of feral hogs when I hear to word feral but that may be based on where I live. We have a huge problem with feral hogs around here because there are a lot of people who raise pigs.

Dragons are epic, and people wouldn't just be canines XD. But horses would be very nice o3o so people can play as prey? There isn't any games where you could play as a horse. :/

People keep talking about horses, birds, and dragons. Why not reptiles? most reptiles have a basic body then its just minor changes in parts. and we wouldent have a hunting issue with gators.

I'm not a huge fan on the whole flying thing. They got rid of wings to get rid of that, so what's the point in bringing in more winged creatures? And horses... Wouldn't really fit into the game. As much as the idea of being a horse and all, when I think of feral, I most definately don't think of horses.

Reptiles sound nice, but I don't see how they'd fit, either.... I dont want to sound like a troll or anything o3o;;

I'd still think rodents of some kind would be good, but they'd probably get eaten alot. I think felines and canines are fine for now, personally.

I don't think adding whole new meshes would be a very good idea, but I'm all for greater customization!
Not that FH doesn't already have a wide variety of it, but features of more subspecies would be a happy medium without having to create a whole new animal.

Sort of like they do with hyenas, tigers, foxes and whatnot already.

I'd definitely be happy to have birds of some sort and so on in the game. We all are, aren't we? I'm not going to bet that any species suggested are going to be added. Anyhow, I have to wonder why everyone suggests "HORSEHORSEHORSEHORSE DRAGUNDRAGUNDRAGUNDRAGUN!" Honestly, I think reptiles are a better idea than horses or dragons. Bats would be interesting as well. -runs and hides in bunkers to hide from the flaming-

but with things like deer & horses in this kind of game wouldn't make much sence.
deer and horses sre the prey of lions and wolfs so that wouldn't be a very sensible choice.
they would pretty much dinner /:D
but things like Dragons, Grifions, Bears, boars, and maybe even Humans are a really good idea  ;D :D ;) :)

What other (currently out) free 3D game lets you be any species of canine and feline from any shape/size/species, color it , make a home for it and hang out with friends in freedom in a massive online community of artist and writers?

Sure there's room for more but FH just feels different from the rest of the MMO's with non-stereotypical classes of characters. ^^

I love playing other video games that have different creatures but I just don't see them "fitting" in FH.
(Although I would still love to see Bears xD )

Npcs or a multiplayer hunting minigame, that way, you can still hunt, but there will be no real player prey animals.

ya I agree with all of this stuff
*like new playible animals
*hunting prey
*maybe even hunting monsters or beast.
But I think some of the ideas for new playible animal species are questionable.
like horses, flying animals( because they are so small), dragons are way to big
but bears, boars, maybe even humans would be nice
( humans as in like run away kids at young ages or kids who are lost from their families, like the kid from the jungle book).

Errrm... Humans aren't 'feral' though are they? And monsters would definately not fit. Hunting in the future updates may be added, from what I have heard.

Yes, but how on earth would they fit in? This game is mean for actual Feral creatures, such as the canines/felines. Humans would not fit at all in this game.

FH should definetly have a bear model - I love bears, so I made a bear outta a wolf model - and the legs were too skinny.

Hmm, if, if, there were to be a third animal placed in FeralHeart (which I wouldn't mind), I'd hope that at least they make it fit into the FeralHeart theme. I'm a HUGE no on humans. I'm pretty sure most IT fans would be too, unless they were the few who actually role played as humans. Still - I'm.. eh, just no. Humans don't fit into FeralHeart. Want humans, I suggest trying SecondLife.

Honestly.. I think if a proper list were to be made, FeralHeart should stick to the lines of carnivorous mammals. While horses would be alright, and everyone loves horses, I think that would draw in too many younger players. (Yes, it's a stereotype, I'm aware that there are older, advanced roleplayers who roleplay horses~) Also, from what I've observed, most of our members don't know how to.. role play properly. Or become very.. or too, unrealistic and rude in game. A horse character would easily be targeted by canines and felines alike, that, or they would over populate the game at one point or another. x___x'

If another were to be added.. I'd suggest bears, well that's because that's all I can think of.. xDD

Although, to be fair, I guess throwing in a non-carnivorous animal would be alright. Although I'm really unsure about it, and it would and should take a lot of time for the FH team to properly consider a third animal.

(My opinion's likely to change.. or not, I'm still highly unsure.. and, I didn't read most of the posts here, so sorry if I repeat xD)

When (most) people think of feral, they think of things with fur. Bears I could understand, but lizards and reptiles I'd disagree with.

Or Primate to be more broad. They're amusing and interesting animals. Not exactly something that you see in many games, since the majority generally doesn't like them for some reason. Plus, I'd benefit a lot from it seeing as how my made-up species is really more of a primate than anything.

Bears are also an interesting choice. o3o

I would prefer it if a new mesh was either a bear or a primate as quite a few different species can be created with them using the different available markings. A primate could be made into a tamarin, lemur, spider monkey, chimpanzee, etc. Whilst a bear mesh could be a spectacled bear, brown bear, sun bear, sloth bear, etc.

But, it would take a lot of time and money, etc. to be able to make a new mesh and markings for the game, so I don't expect it to be implemented for sure.

I've been thinking only carnivors in this game, like bears is a good idea, not monkeys, maybe even lizards they eat meat.


But bears would be an awsome idea. maybe I should recomend them make bears. ;)

Lizards would be to small, and would be easy pickings for larger mammals. Bears, on the otherhand, I can fully understand, but wouldn't quite want them in the game. I like the Feline/Canine base better. Now, as I saw this being pointed out in the first few pages, I do also support the idea of having sub-species in the Feline/Canine custumization creation. It would allow more players to expand and create more unique characters. Just thought I should say something on the topic, and point a few things out.

Aaron, monkeys are omnivores. They eat both meat and things that grow. I think monkeys would be pretty cool. I really think a bunch of larger predators would be kind of fun.

XD if there were whales and dolphins, how would they go about moving on land? I want a game where you can be dolphins and whales, but in a land based Game like FH that would be a VERY big issue. And I think we need to stick to carnivourous mamals, that could be around the size of wolves and lions (if there is such a thing...)

monkeys are limber and quick so they may work but horses are just herbivors, they'd just be everyone ( except for monkeys) elses pray, it could'nt work like dolphins or whales( which whales are way to big).

Umm...kind of....but not really. It would be more like FeralHeart had a partner game called WildHeart or something. FeralHeart is the same, lions and wolves and stuff. I agree, if there ever were more animals introduced they would have to be carnivores, but don't have a go at others because they are suggesting herbivorous creatures.

Lol goats would be awesome! Haha, what about sheep? You could design their fluff/wool color! Imagine a sheep that's all black... then with hot pink/neon wool! I agree with some people... although I do love horses and other herbivorous farm animals, I think that they would be such a target for people to rp and attack over. It just wouldn't be fun if you always had wolves and lions stalking you and riding on your back, trying to bite your legs. I also can't imagine what they would look like... they just wouldn't fit.

As for some sort of bird, like a hawk or an eagle, it might be fun to fly, but then everyone would do it... and if you could only walk, it would be sooo slow with their little legs. Maybe they wouldn't be able to fly, but hover a bit over the ground instead of walking. They could 'jump'; when hitting the space bar, they fly up to the height of a tree, so they can sit on branches that the 4 legged critters can't reach.

I would also hope for prey OR animals that you cannot hunt, but still walk/move around. Maybe even just birds and rabbits that come in and walk around the area. In map maker, you could place zebras and gazelles that gallop around. I never got the chance to play IT, so I'm not sure how it worked. Good ideas everyone, keep it up!

But off that, yes, Primal Carnage you can play as a dinosaur. See some of their other videos, it has name tags above the raptors. But this isn't really the place to talk about that game. X3

...And as I said before, I don't mean ACTUAL realistic as in everything realistic, but they said somewhere they got rid of the wings because 1) it was not realistic in the sense that wolves and cats can't fly around, and 2) it means that maps where you have to make your way somewhere by climbing or such get wiped out, because people would just fly there instead of using the map to get there... The only thing that backfires is that there is no horse/herbivore games other then TEF. And TEF gets boring after like 30 minutes for some people. And when there is a horse/herbivore game? They stink.

You know what, when IT was still around me and Kovu were hunting. He came up to me after I asked about Feralheart. Want to know what he said? He told me he wanted lions, so that he can upgrade the meshes to look better, and wolves, to draw in the WQ crowd to play his game.

You guys need to understand that Kovu has a internship and college to do, please don't harass him on adding new animals when your going to get prey anyway. If we somehow do get pets, you can tame them and use those as your meshs.

Just my suggestion is all.

I think more options should be added to help. I find it hard to make certain dog breeds because the canine model is too wolfish. But I'm sure more sliders and options will be added.

To be honest, you can make quite a few species out of the wolf model. It's not really 'wolfish' if you consider all the different ears. You can make hyenas, collies, german shepherds... I've made a 'dragon' character in the past as many others have. It's even possible to make a rodent! I've got my own rat character, and that's with the default markings.

I can't actually see horses (Or unicorns at all o_o), bears or anything else in FH other then canines and felines. If you want other species, wait for Arokai to come out? Although, personally I'm not impatient for that to come out because of Feralheart. I dunno, that's just my opinion. :P

This game isn't really meant to be filled with magical unicorns and dragons I don't think, it's more for creatures that already exist, but we are able to create our own versions of them. Animals such as horses and large reptiles (crocodiles, komodo dragons) are the sorts of animals that are more likely to be added than magical mythical creatures.

I'd like it - the game has a while to go though, at least before we start considering adding new models and the like, which are mostly for cosmetic reasons. More gameplay mechanics need to be added to make it more interesting, since right now FH is a giant 3D chat room where you're mostly ignored.

I know there is wings currently in developement, but prey and items were said never to be created.. But, perhaps Kovu will change his mind. I think that items not being put in was to avoid hacking; which was the reason for hackers in IT.

I always wondered about the games title. Does Feral mean animals like lions and wolves or does it count for all animals? Because if we add more animals like birds, I feel that we should change the title.

You kinda can make ferrets already with the models in the game. There's long tails for kitties, you can make them short and long, and give them Siamese patterns. Bam, ferret.

I think ungulates like deer and horses would be neat. Why? Well, it's just nice to be playing as a lion on a large savanna, and you see zebras and gazelles in the distance. Or, if you're a wolf trying to get back to your pack, you might see a deer through the trees in a forest. I think it would just flesh out the game a bit more, so it's not just all cats and dogs running around. Besides, plenty of people have already said that they want horses.

That or bears....hooved animal meshes would be interesting but people might complain if they're attacked, bears though are everywhere, and they wouldnt even need markings to be realistic! xD

Feral means Wild, untamed, so yes, it counts for all animals

Old dead thread is ooooold. It has already been discussed and the likelihood of other species being added to the game is nil. It is easy enough for people to get presets that can be made to look like other animals. And humans...no just no. x.x It's Feral Heart, not SecondLife. It is meant to be feral, wild animals.

     I think it would be cool to play as other animals, but feralheart in my opinion needs to improve the current settings for animals. im not saying its terrible, but theres a few things and settings i would love for them to add. if they had dual markings, and by that i mean wear two different markings at the same time but can also be a different color, it would be interesting. i also think they should add more to the tail and equip section. its more fantasyish, but this isnt wq lol:

You can easily make a fox with the canine editor.

Anyways, look at the title of the game. "Feral Heart". Now, a horse shouldn't really come to your head when you think of that name. If it does, YOU'VE BEEN EATING TOO MUCH COOKIES- Nah. Ignore that x3 A horse would fit in "Wild Heart" or something like that.

No. Just, no. No no nein no. "Feral" does not mean "Human". Unless they made these humans savage, wild, bush-dancing monkeys, then no. No humans. It would be fun, I admit, but it just doesn't fit in with the title and the already-made models.

Now, I just relised while reading someone else's comment~ The meaning of the word "Feral" to me is either wild, feral animals, or all animals. But... it'd take about 150 years for Kov to make ALL the animal models. xD

The second best thing to me when I think of the word "Feral" ((besides the all-mighty feline and canine)) Is probably a meat-eating bird. I don't know xD Don'tyellatmeforstateingmyopinion  :'(

There won't be any more animal meshes, it's too much effort on Kov's part end of, not to mention unnecessary. A lot can be achieved if you use your imagination, or make a preset! There aren't any boundaries, so go experiment with creating the 'species' you want to create.

I think feralheart should only have the canine and feline models. I just cant picture any other animals inside the game other than that. And IF, kovu absoulty had to put another in I would want to see a bear or something in that nature since a bear is another meat-eatting animal in some parts (i knwo they also can eat berries and other things) But for now lets just keep it the way FeralHeart was oringally designed for...~just my opinion please dont yell at meh X( ~

I would like to see some type of bird. Though if anything else where to enter into FH, people would over run it. Say with horses, there would be no Canines & Felines left due to Horse RPS and MPL rps. Lol

if we add birds,bears etc. it would be the same as Arokai but since Arokai hasnt come out yet then maybe it will work.But i dont think dragons should be added I mean this is not a fantasy game.

Honestly, I highly doubt any more species will be added, though I still sort of hope they'll add carnivorous birds, owls to be precise.

Because I feel like it would take the magic out of the game. People come to Feralheart to play as an animal. They are already Humans, it would take so much out of our wonderful game to have them running around in our animal world. Even tho, people are already rping as humans, its doesnt take the magic away cause everyone else sees a lion or wolf running around. :)

I honestly don't think an actual human model would fit because it's based on a "Feral" game, but there's one problem: Kovu hasn't been here for a YEAR. He has more to life than just being on the computer, maybe he's taking a break for a while. If Kovu was here, I'd like a bear model to actually play as. I don't think dragons, much as I love them be added, it honestly wouldn't make sense to see dragons flying around, plus it might ruin the server by several crashes seeing how big it was. I don't want this fabulous game to end like IT, I really don't.

No. Just- just no. Humans would be chunky soup to try and model and code, and would not fit the point of a 'Feral' part of the game. You can just use the Chimeria(SP) markings and manes, back mane to make up for the missing features of a human.

We have wings now, you can already make a dragon, just need an item pack and your good, if you just need horns.

Nah, it seems like the same thing as dragons, it wouldn't fit with fictional creatures. I say a bear might be the closest animal closest to a lion or a wolf. I honestly think a bear should go with a cat and a dog. They're graceful creatures and there isn't a lot of RP's including bears so why not?

I think only cats, dogs and bears should be in Feralheart but there's one HUGE problem: KovuLKD hasn't been here for a year now. Where is he? Nobody on Feralheart knows. We'll have to wait until he comes back, if he ever comes back. (I heard he ditched Feralheart but please don't go on his DA account and start bugging him. There's no use in bothering him besides; he has more to life than the game itself.

*facepalm* How many times to I have to say this? Feral means: CARNIVORE. Sorry if i'm being rude it's just that i'm annoyed that some people don't read.

Bugs: Heck no! That doesn't make sense AT ALL. How does that go with cats and dogs?

Barn Owls: I like them but it really wouldn't fit in-game at all.

Humans: God no! That definitely wouldn't fit with animals at all. Besides you could just use a wolf model and play as a human.

Horses: Much as I love them, they wouldn't go with it either, they would be hunted down anyway.

Dragons: Wouldn't make sense, really to see them flying in the air while people are derping around. Try SOE and get a PET dragon when you tame them. Same for horses. C:
