Title: Weird Hair?
Post by: Jesicat on May 23, 2012, 10:40:48 pm
(http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n625/MushroomkittyArt/Weirdhair.png)

A couple days ago my FH crashed and I had a really hard time getting it to work again. I had to delete all of the FH files and then re-download. It worked after that but ever since then the hair has looked like this......any suggestions?

EDIT: I have tried re-downloading the game but the hair is still the same :C

(Its so funky looking lol)

Something happened to the mane mask. Replace that, and it should help?

Can someone give me a download link to it? I keep uninstalling and re-installing and everything and FH is just like "LOL NOPE!"

This latest re-install gave me this:

odd problem
looks like png transparencies are missing or not loading, corrupted file?
It is weird since you have reinstalled FH.
Have you made something with your video drivers recently? or reinstalled your operating system recently?
(im asking because maybe you need a video card driver update)

here are the 2 mane mask file, i hope it will work:

Still the same, maybe the code is messed up? *goes to look for it*

Or it could be the fact that DirectX never installs properly? My computer refuses to install it for some reason, always telling me there is an error and I need to check the DirectX log or something.

Though this doesn't make sense cause I have had no issues with the hair till this last major crash of the game  :C

Make sure you don't have two or more copies of the ane Mask file or such. If so, It may be duplicating the mane, and layering it.Check the file and make sure.

Alright, this is what I would:
1. Empty Recycling bin
2. Delete ALL FeralHeart folders, items Whatever, Look in everything, don;t leave a trace behind.
3. Make sure Recycling Bin has been fully emptied after deleting and all.
4. Uninstall FH
5. Restart Computer, to get rid  of all the mingling particles
6. Re-Install Feralheart, and this time save it as (folder): FeralHeart!

Uggggh I did all of that and it is still all messed up.

Do you think it has something to do with DirectX not downloading properly?

Jesi quick question for you. When it came to deleting your game did you Delete it by clicking on the FH folder and clicking the delete button?
Or did you go inside the folder and click on the uninstall application?

If its the first. Your not really supposed to delete games that way. They dont fully remove the game files and it could cause more problems for you that way.

If you clicked the uninstall application then it should automatically do it properly for you. The way its meant to be taken off your computer.

However have you considered not using DirectX and using openGL.Test it out to see if it will fix the problem. To do this simply follow these instructions (only do it this way if you cant get the box to show when FH starts.) :

1) go into your FH folder. You should see exports/media/my_presets/presets ect

2) Scroll down and look for a file called ogre.CFG file. Open it with notepad or anyother word program.

3) When it opens you should see something quite like this.(however since our pc's are different the resolution and graphics card will be different.) :

Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=0
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=Yes
Rendering Device=Monitor-1-AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Resource Creation Policy=Create on all devices
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=1440 x 900 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

4) The top Line needs to be replaced with OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
The topline should look like this

Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
