Title: Making Height Maps

Just wondering, (I've never made a map before), but would I possibly be able to make a Heightmap use Paint rather then Photoshop?

No, you can only use Photoshop or Gimp.

Gimp = Free so id recommend that one, Paint dosent have the necessary settings for heightmaps~

yes Gimp can work , but i has made a map from bimp , but it didnt work O.o help please , all the masks work good , but map not work , please help me

Tonje, please stop posting your questions on other peoples Help threads just wait for someone to answer yours, Now did you make it in GrayScale, 513 by 513 pixels. then did you save it as a Png?

It contains around 5 or more heightmap tutorials, some with videos as well incase some dont understand the written ones.

If a heightmap dosent work make sure it is

513x513
png image
grayscale
NO ALPHA CHANNEL (on gimp)
