I'm making a map and I wanted to put a track from Balloon Party in it. I followed the instructions from Rimfrost's tutorial but it didn't work and now I'm kind of confused :c Anyone help?
((For once, I don't have problems with my game xD))

As in cases with music, often have to make copies and rename mp3 files and place them in music folder.
For instance, if was adding "The Last Stop" for Firefly Island, I would save the mp3 as firefly1 into the music folder.
Afterwards, would go back to main Feral Heart folder and open the music.cfg file.
In this, would put the following; (The keyword for my line would be Firefly, yours would be your own).
[Firefly]
media/music/firefly1.mp3
Save file.
Then would open up map maker, go to the tab that allows the music to be added and type in the keyword, (Firefly for me).
Would then click test. (Make sure sounds is actually turned up, have had someone explained this to not even have the music ON).
It should work, if done correctly. I've no idea if this is different from Rimfrost's method, has I haven't ever looked at it myself.
-
That didn't work :/
-
Are sure the music is an mp3 file? I've had to re-create music files before to get them to work. But marf.
-
Yes, I made sure the music was in an mp3 file. I have it saved as "PinkiesMaze1" in my music folder.
-
MP3 is in FH>Media>Music
Cfg is correct?
Keyword is used the same both in game and in cfg Caps-wise?
-
Put the songs in the Sounds folder.
-
Okay, I put the song in the sounds folder, I did everything you told me to, and it still isn't working...
These are the contents of my music.cfg
[Title]
media/music/title.mp3
[Plains]
media/music/plains1.mp3
media/music/plains2.mp3
media/music/plains3.mp3
[Caves]
media/music/caves1.mp3
media/music/caves2.mp3
[Sacred]
[PinkiesMaze]
media/sounds/PinkiesMaze1.mp3

I never go and touch music cfg file. Id rather do it easier. On map maker and on ur map, at bottom ull see music. Type in ur songs name (make sure this is exactly how u saved it letters and all) follwed by .mp3 when u test ur map u will hear ur music playing. Make sure to have ur music volume on for FH
Your song must be in your FH Sounds folder
-
Okay, I did that, and I heard it. When I tried to export, it froze :/
-
When u export sometimes the screen freezes and goes white for abit, this is normal its just exporting alot of stuff, give it a few mins and then check on it, usually everythings done exporting then~
-
Well, what happens is the game will COMPLETELY freeze, and the exporting process will just stop. Like, I won't be able to close it, or do anything. It just sort of... sits there.
EDIT: Well, I just deleted the files from the exports folder in the hopes that I could try exporting, but that didn't work and now I can't export at all :|
-
Have you tried exporting without the music file?
And are you being sure to wait? Sometimes it will "freeze". But if you let it sit long enough it usually pulls itself through.
-
If I export the file without music, would there then be a way to get the music I wanted to go with the file? Also, sorry for sounding so noobish D:
I just exported the first map, and when I did, it froze right after exporting all of the necessary files. The second map I export exports just fine.
-
Are you letting it sit after it freezes?
And no, by taking it out of the "Music" tab it would not export.
-
Okay, that's what I thought. I'm letting it sit for a bit, just to see what happens. I also have Task Manager open, and it says that FeralHeart is not responding. I don't know if my computer doesn't like FH or what.
-
It always does that. Generally though, if you let it sit, it will export. You just can't go "Oh no it's not responding -random key smash-". It may say it's not responding, but it is. Slowly.
-
I just got Pinkie's Playhouse (the second map) to export without a problem. It's only the first one, Pinkie's Maze, that gives me issues. I just shut down and restarted my computer since an update needed to be installed. That might have something to do with the freezing. I don't know, though.
Edit: Yeah, Pinkie's Maze still freezes. I'll try to see if it's one of the items I put in that causes it to do that. It always seems to stop on one certain object.
-
'Bout how long are you allowing it to sit?
-
I would let it sit for about 5-7 minutes, but I think I found the problem. There was a bum particle file that I hadn't intended on leaving in, and that was what would freeze it. I just tried exporting it now, and it worked like a charm.
Now that I got Pinkie's Maze to work, I, for some reason, can't get into Pinkie's Playhouse. There's a portal between the two, but every time I go to the portal in Pinkie's Maze, it just says "Cannot find map file."
-
I can't really hear my music. I put it in the sounds folder, and I did all the directions.
-
Wait, I got it! Thanks, CloudFish. I must've got something wrong.
-
No problem, always good to mess around with it in multiple ways.
-
im having the same problem as Zarorahbutt.i want to play a bunch of music. 1, Can you do that 2. if so how?
-
Ellie, if your having trouble, please make your own thread. Thanks.
