Considering John Carter was originally one of the biggest box office bombs in movie history, I doubt it. You never know, I guess, especially since it rebounded and gained some money back after Avengers premiered. I thought this was pretty interesting, too: "The film's perceived failure led to the resignation of Rich Ross, the head of Walt Disney Studios, even though Ross had arrived there from his earlier success at the Disney Channel with John Carter already in development" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carter_(film)#Box_office)
