Title: Darker at Night?

 I'm sorry if this idea is not possible with coding or it's already been asked for. So I was talking with my rp buddies and we we discussing FH's night. And I brought up the idea of FH's objects to turn darker at night. Such as irl when it's dark you can't see trees or animal's that well. But in FH the terrain and objects are real easy to see.It would make the roleplaying much more realistic, such as dark wolves blending in to the night and not just being as plain to see as it would be in day. This is just an idea, and like I said, I'm sorry if the coding won't allow it.

That's actually a fantastic idea. I would love it if FH's graphics in general were just a bit more realistic-- maybe someday we'll get what we wish for, yeah? c:

I honestly agree, I wish the FH nights were darker. And perhaps things that glow are brighter at night as well, that would be cool too.

Although I love the idea, it's whether or not anybody will do anything about it. I wish it were darker at night, but who knows if anybody will change it or not. It would be great for FH's realism and graphics though

I love this Idea and honestly agree that it should be darker of a night time. It would add more realism to the game and make things a little more interesting great idea friend.

Wonderful idea, we definitely should add that in the future sometime. I don't see it as being a problem for coding, doesn't seem that hard to produce. Then again, I have no idea. :D It would probably be funner if you were trying to find people in the dark, like a game or something and can make FH more realistic. :)

Kitty eyes glow well in dark, taking creeping to a whole new levelz.

I like this idea as well and I think I will add it to a thread I have laying around. Darker nights and brigher reflections and moonlight would've been something REALLY setting a great touch to a game like this.

Anything to make the world seem more lively is a big plus and I'm not sure this idea has been mentioned before.

I would love a more darker night on Feralheart. Great idea! I think at the moment Feralheart could do with some more realistic features.

It should be darker. It feels so unrealistic to see everything out in the distance, when in real life, it is harder to see things. They should make it darker, so RPing can be easier.

I definately like the idea. In real life I am a night person and I tend to be more active in game when it is night since I just like that atmosphere better. It would be nicer to see a darker night so we could blend into our surroundings maybe even add night sound effects like crickets, owl hoots, and frog song by the river bed and glowing eyes at night like Red said. It would surely add to the effect and realism of the game.

I agree, if Feral Heart was more realistic with it's graphics that would make for a much more enjoyable experience. Shadows would be great as well, but I know that shadows could cause a lot of lag. But one little detail that I want to mention. When it rains, and you are inside a den, the rain goes through to den. It would be more realistic if the rain would bounce off or run down the mesh. That would take a lot of coding though, I'm guessing. So the rain could simply not go inside the mesh. X3

Love this idea, and may I also say it would be great if the night sky itself was a dark navy instead of the fully-saturated blue violet thing it has going on now. For objects/characters, it would be pretty easy to change the materials to make them get dark at night, though it might be nicer if they didn't go all yellow during the day as a result. Not sure, but I think that's also map lighting...

This is a great idea! It would be alot more realistic and a great feature ingame. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned before, Great job.  I can just imagine nighttime now and prowling around as my characters. Hehe

I like this idea. Certain eyes should be able to see in the dark. There should be a feature to make the eyes glow, like Red mentioned earlier in the topic, but it should be toggleable.

I Loveee this idea infact I made a topic about this not knowing this one exsisted but it would make night hunting and stalking so much Funnest and more more realistic.

This idea goes well with the moon-phases idea I've seen someone suggest somewhere.

It's a great idea. Darker shadows and such, with a more realistic sky, and glowing eyes.
Bwahah. It would make stalking that much more effective. x3

I believe, the only way to do this is to reduce the ambient light in each material script of every object,, and maybe is not totally posible for the terrain or the characters, and is a lot of work compared to edit the game source code to reduce the global night ambient light.

i've actually had this idea for a few months now. I keep complaining to my sister that FeralHearts nights are just unrealistic for how light they are. I used to complain about that on his previous game IT. Since FH is more realistic with the models i was hoping he'd at least make night time realistic. However since he's probably too busy or he probably won't do it im going to see if i can. I'd love the game more and probably play it more often if it had these realistic features in. I think it'd make the game alot more enjoyable. For people who just laze around or for RP's.

Also, shading! Maybe adding shadows to objects may help as the sun moves around, but it would be very hard to code shadows

It wasn't obvious which part I was supposed to modify at first though.

It'll be up once I figure out how to keep the water from glowing in caves, which get very dark!  

Interesting thing I noticed when I was testing cave darkness effects: the fluorite crystals in Ficho Tunnel glow, so it isn't all pitch-black around them.  Last Cave isn't quite pitch-black, either, but that's because I left a little auto-lighting--it's still very dark.  But with the darkness in Ficho broken by the lights, you don't have to worry about not being able to see!  (in the mod, eyes glow, so you'll be able to see everybody's eyes, too)

Yes, lights are more noticeable!  Better tell Red he'll need to add light fixtures to the Feral Heart Cinema, though--I can't see a thing anymore XD  Same with Feral City at night. 

The waterglow gets annoying, trust me.  If you're half-in the water, everything underwater glows.

Depending on what modifications he will need to do, (and how accepted by people is your mod) it is posible to do a change.

All it'd be is a few light effects on the ceilings of the cinema, and some light fixtures like lamps in the city.  Nothing too crazy, if anything it'd be more realistic that way, mod or not.

me and my sister love the new mod you've done mink. However there seems to be a glitch with the water. Its spazzing all over the place and has black lines running through it. I'm going to try and fix this myself later when i get the chance too. Its a good job i have a backup of my FH files. The water is sped up and glitchy. I've got a rough idea how to fix it. So i'll see how things go. But other then that the mod is epic. My characters blend with glowing eyes. However during the day they have alittle shading as well as the color being slightly off. But just makes them look better.

I'm aware of the water glitch.  I didn't figure out how to fix it until after I put up the download link.  V.1.1 coming ASAP.

I love the idea of Feral~Heart going even darker at night, it would make the game mor realistic from mai point of veiw.  8)
