Title: FeralHeart crashiness-fixed
Post by: kithawthorne on June 12, 2012, 04:35:06 pm
So. I thought I had learned all I needed to about exporting maps and FH crashiness. I was wrong.

So today, I just finished a really big map project(95.7mb worth) and I exported. Afterwards, I went to my particles, and deleted the _0 particle that was there. But still, when I open FH, right after it crashes, without even showing me the logos.

Help me please? Hopefully today?

You deleted the wrong particles. Your suppose to delete the 1 particle not the 0.

No, I almays delete the 0 particle. It's the only one I ever have there to delete.

If there is no other particle there to delete then you shouldnt delete it at all.

Try putting the particles back if it works after that do not touch the _0 particles the only ones you ever delete should be _1 particles.

Strange you will probably have to wait for a more experienced member or Mod to reply to this. What I told you to do should have worked it could possibly be the shere size of your map.

Hm. It was something like 4500 width. of course, maybe it was the 200x tuna...

That many objects in such a small map will mess with it a bit. Just a suggestion make a back up file for your map and re install FH seems to do the trick for almost everything else. Thats the last thing I can suggest you do friend.

Skippy, you do indeed delete the _0 files as well.

If you've deleted the _0 files in particles, take a look in your "Sky" area as well, as there are tricky duplicate particles hidden in there as well.

In addition to sky and particles, they can also end up in your my_objects if you use certain people's meshes. Like Drek's leaves behind particles in there.

I am the single biggest idiot ever.

While I got to clean out my "Sky" folder, I forgot to look in my "My_Objects" folder. Lo and behold, as I went to copy my files from "My_Objects" what do I see?

DrekIceFire_0.particle
RandomFireAura_0.particle

And so on.

I delete all those, and amazing! FH works again! Thanks for helping, guys.

Oh, and As I was typing this a new reply popped up. XD
