First and foremost, hello everyone, you may call me Pine. c:
On another note, I like information handed to be on a silver platter (complete with a folded napkin and what not), so could someone explain the difference between simply downloading the game and... torrent?

Hi! I'm Bloo!! A Download is basicly a direct file being pulled from a server from one source.
 
A torrent is essentially a small file with link information in it, telling your computer who has the files, and what they are called. When you open the torrent, it begins to search for other users with the same torrent, and begins downloading files from every single person (peers) at once. Torrents can have up to 1000 peers (very fast download) compared to downloads (only 1 peer max). Terms: A peer is a person who has the file but is not complete, you can download from these people while at the same time downloading from SEEDERS. Seeders have the entire file and only hand out parts of it that peers dont have, to optimize connection usage.

ANYWAY.
Thanks, I think I have that gives me the general idea (though I'm thinking on both terms of WoW and Skyrim herp derp).
So when you say sharing things with multiple users, do you mean that you can have add-ons made by ordinary members?
Or is it just different places for different people to go on?

Lol it's kinda confusing. I just reccomend using regular download. Torrent only says recommended cause it's faster ^-^

Well..actually here's a simple answer to your last question i just put together in my head lol. Torrent is a protocol that allows you to download pieces of a file from many different people. It's "distributed downloading". (And, since you're downloading from strangers, it carries the risk of downloading a virus-infected file.)

In regards to role playing, is it in paragraph form?
Or is it talking/acting as the character?
Or does it just vary person to person?
and if so whats the most common style ? xD

Roleplaying style just varies. xD Usually people with similar styles join the same groups, so just find one that fits the style you like best and have fun(:

Keep an eye out for rps that say they are literate, this means they are looking for A LOT of writing. smie-literate is a few sentences, and non-literate is about 1-2 sentences.

Well, I first started role playing on Neopets, and I'm considered more of the literate sort. c|
advanced in some peoples opinions

The biggest thing I've noticed is people talking in regards to map and unmapped, and I have no idea what that's about.
What's the best way to find out about all the different role play groups, do you know? c:

Or you can listen in general which is the green writing in the chat box. If you can find your way to fluorite plains loads of people are always advertising there. As for mapped and unmapped, maps are things people create in map maker on FH then upload to the game. In Cape of Distant Worlds, all the portals for those maps you download pop up. They are usually used for roleplay and aren't that hard to download.
