Title: Game Graphics Help?
Post by: Zarorah on July 18, 2012, 10:25:17 pm
So I reinstalled FH on my laptop (which is running the Windows 8 release preview).  I can log on fine, access my characters normally too.  The only issue is, at the log in screen, the background will go a bit haywire.  It's mostly the ground and not the objects, and the only thing the ground does is disappear in some places.

When I go to get on my characters, they're wonky too.  Like, there's lines going off of them, and the shapes are slightly messed up.

Is this just a case of me needing to update my graphics card?  Or is it something else?

Also, I can't seem to use the OpenGL rendering system.  Is that because of Windows 8?  Any help or ideas are appreciated! :3

I've had this happen in a way, try using the least laggy settings, I believe you should update your graphics card, If this doesn't work then ask a mod

I'm not sure what the least laggy setting are, but I put everything at its lowest and nothing changed.  My laptop also says that my graphics card is up to date.

Hmm... Well..since Windows 8 is still being worked on, then it may be a while until Windows 8 fully supports the 3D Computer Game Graphics. It doesn't do this on Windows 7, so therefore, It's Windows 8.

Another suggestion is to update DirectX

Alrighty, I've just resorted to playing it on my desktop for the time being.  I can wait ^^ I had updated my DirectX when I tried to play a different game, which is also glitching up a bit.  So, I'll just wait patiently :3 Nuzzles for you!

EDIT: Welp, now that I logged into the game, I realize that maybe it isn't so bad :3
