Random household objects. I felt that the piebald color helped to lend to the domestic theme of the piece, and the yellowish-brown color of its pelt were colors that I closely associated with my childhood.

That's not to say that there aren't solid-colored dogs, but we usually think of deer as being solid colored or having fairly predictable coat patterns. So, in order to keep with the domestic theme, I chose the piebald coloration.

I did graphite for the looongest time before I started using the computer, and I'm still improving my skills; it's not hard for me to look back at a project I just finished and find at least 10 things wrong with it.

I'm still alive! I'm just getting back into the swing of things from my honeymoon, getting my name changed and stuffs--this scene is just taking a while.

That's what I get for using actual photographs for the background.
At least I get some practice using textures on characters.

I love your deer designs. They're so quirky and unique, very refreshing to see, especially now that a lot of people's deer characters on TEF are starting to look the same (when they're not starry-eyed does with feathers, they're big gangly bucks with skull-faces).

Post by: Abomine on September 12, 2012, 11:22:41 pm: TEF is The Endless Forest, a mmorpg/interactive screensaver in which you play as a deer spirit, wander around in a pretty forest (that never ends, hence the title), cast spells, change your deer's appearance, and interact with other players. There is no 'chat box' like there is in FH, so you communicate with other players' deer characters using sounds and body language (pawing the ground, shaking your head, rolling over, cocking your head to one side, etc.)

The only place where TEF players really 'talk' is on the TEF forum/community site.

It's a very interesting and unique game, but it's not everybody's cup of tea. You either like it or you don't.

Yeah. I hated that the game turned into that.

:\ You'd try to find deer to play with and they'd ignore you. Or they'd move away from you and go play with someone else.

That, and I don't quite get how the roleplays work, anyways. How would you keep a storyline? I guess I could see chronicling a story based on in-game actions, but other than that, I don't know.

The in-game stuff is probably used on the side, like a few rp buddies get on the game in-character and just...I don't know...stare at each other?

Course, the first one leads to irritation because if you try to interact with peoples deer and they're rping, they tend to ignore you :\
