Title: [Pirates of the Caribbean idea?]
Post by: Sibb on August 05, 2012, 01:51:11 pm
Hey guys, I've been thinking, the Atlantis map could use a creative touch, sure there are buildings underwater but nobody actually uses them. Lets face it.

I have thought of an idea, why not put TWO pirate ships that are ginormous enough to be climbable and walkable.
The ships could be a brown colour and have different flags on them to show they are against one another.

I thought of this after thinking about how Atlantis could be improved. With the pirate ships, you can have mermaids, sharks, pirate RPs, so much more could be added to the map if SHIPS were put there.

Leave your ideas and comments, see what you think. :)

I've always thought Atlantis was too boring for anyone to enter in, since I barely see anyone come in there. If it were to be unused, I really see no need for it... But, adding a little extra something would brighten up the place and make it become more lively. 83

It sounds like a good idea, but there is actually a basic ship mesh somewhere in FH, and that is actually pretty laggy. Adding two large pirate ships in might make the map a pretty bad place to go...

Perhaps build the ship from bits and pieces? MESH files I do know are very laggy and cause problems. I wasn't thinking of MESH files in particular. I was thinking of making them from scratch. Don't know how, but it was an idea. Just to make the place more of a joy to go to. :)

but it would still be the same thing, whether a mesh made by someone or bits that are made then pieced together in the map maker, it'll still cause the same amount of lag because it is the same thing, just cut up into pieces, or am I getting confused?

I think the pirate ship thing would be a cool idea but then again any new and exciting additions brought to the lands of Atlantis, Last Cave, and The south pole would be welcomed because for me those three maps are very dead. Hopefully Kovu has plans to improve them in the future so that more people will be willing to go there. I've noticed that of most of the few people that travel out there to those maps have been up to no good since theres barely anyone out there... if you guys know what I mean  :-X

Atlantis and LastCave....2 maps where you've got nothing else to do.Would be a good idea to add ships and other stuff to Atlantis thought

I know adding more stuff would lag the map a bit, but that would possibly help us a bit, keeping the wierdness away from Fluorite.

As Fluorite is the most popular map to go to to get some gossip.

Great Idea! This is a great way to get more people into those plain, empty, lonesome maps.
