Hello fellow Simmers,
I have been wondering around on the forums and FH to see that some games have become popular with the community such as Okami/Okamiden, Skyrim, Slendermen, and etc Well now, it's time put on your plumbobs and show your love for the Sims franchise as I haven't found anyone yet who does! If you do play or have played any Sims-related game, share your experiences here from short stories, screenshots, or even machinimas that you've created, find interesting, or find hilarious. If you have any questions regarding the Sims or would like to know about them, leave a question and I or any other Simmers will gladly answer them if we have the time to!
The Sims
The original game created by Maxis, The Sims, is a strategic life-simulation game that focused on fulfilling a Sim's needs for a living environment. The expansions packs included in this game are Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation Unleashed, Superstar , and Makin' Magic. This generation lasted from 200 to 2004 when Sims 2 was released.
The Sims 2
Sims 2 was published by Electronic Arts who is the current owner of the Sims franchsie all together besides the original Sims which is still owned by Maxis. This game still follows the same concept of it's predecessor but it added more features for the Sims such as wants and needs. Th expansions packs included in this game are University, Nightlife, Open For Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime , and Apartment Life. This is the first generation to feature stuff packs that are usually associated with several of the expansion packs such as Seasons with Holiday Stuff Pack. The stuff packs include Holiday Party Pack, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Celebration Stuff, Happy Holiday, H&M Fashion Stuff, Teen Style Stuff, Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff, IKEA Home Stuff, and Mansion and Garden Stuff. This generation lasted from 2004 to 2008.
Rules- 1. Do not argue over what game is better and etc. All the games are good and bad in their own ways and we do not need enemies to be made over simple video games. Kapeesh?
- 2. Please be literate. I understand that seems like an odd rule but I don't want to see "thiz is Bob n Kylde on the beah last sunday, lolol." Please try your best if English isn't your first language; I understand that many European users do use the forums.
- 3. Please respect others, give constructive criticism and be honest; just don't say said product "sucks" if you don't even know how to help the person.
- 4. If you have any content regarding adult material, DO NOT POST IT HERE. You can pm the other member you're interested in sharing it with but do not dare post it here even if it has warnings.
- 5. Follow all FH rules and have a good time
Keep on Simming!

I love the Sims 3 :) I have all of the expansion packs, except for Fast Lane Stuff, and I'm going to get it soon :D
Also, I CAN'T WAIT for Seasons and Supernatural.... They come out somewhat near my birthday and I'm going to beg my parents to get me them :D
-
Finally, another fellow simmer x3! I also adore the Sims 3 but I still miss the good ol' original. I only have one of the stuff packs (Outdoor Living Stuff) since i never did find they add gameplay just more re-textured items. I also can't wait for Supernatural and Seasons, I want just want to see a ghost, mummy, fairy, werewolf, witch, and vampire duke it out in a snowball fight. It's a bit of a shame that they're releasing them both at such a close time; it's quite a bad business move.
-
I also play sims and i love them all, ever since i played the first i just couldnt stop playing. I personally love building the houses and furnishing them, its what i love best about the games :D
Ive heard a sims 4 is out and a sims 5 is in the making :o
-
If they are, that's going to be insane! If they're already in the works of a Sims 4 and 5, they should at least see the results of the Sims 3 generating since a lot of fans are upset from EA's customer satisfaction when it came for customer support. Nice to see someone else who knows of the original (and has played it too.)
-
Actually, Sims 4 isn't out yet, they're still working on some finishing touches :3
-
It seems a bit too soon for Sims 4 to come out, isn't it? They gave Sims 2 four years but if they're already in the works of Sims 4, shouldn't they try to fix Sims 3 too? xD
-
I absolutly love the Sims franchize. I originally had the first along with the SuperStar expansion. This was a game I personally enjoyed. The funny simlish talk, the actions, and despite the not so good quality, for a simulater, it was a great game. I've never gotten the chance to play the second game. But I've watched TONS of series involving Sims 2. I want it badly. But my friend said she would find her copies and give them to me. I'm crossing my fingers XD
When it comes to Sims 3, I want to say, to some extent I am a bit disappointed with it. I feel that EA didn't put enough effort as Maxis had. Don't get me wrong, I love the graphics. I have all expansion packs up to Pets. Not to mention I've modded the heck out of it.
Originally, I used the first Sims to have fun and go thru a sim life. But for Sims 3, I find myself more drawn to making houses. A large majority of the mods are decorations for houses. I absolutly adore making houses. I think I make them more than I actually play the game. And when I do actually play, I'm killing off my sims and just playing as the pets XD
But gawd! I can't wait for seasons! I'm jittery just thinking about it. X3
Edit: Also about the Sims 4 thing. If I remember correctly, a Sims 4 url domain was licensed by EA. So it is unclear if the game is in working progress atm.
-
I've never played the Sims, but I've seen some videos on YouTube. c:
-
Crystal. Go buy it nowz!! Otherwise, no cookie for you :3
Haha, I'm kidding. It is REALLY fun though. You should seriously consider buying it. =)

Well, I own the original sims, Sims Medieval, well, all of em.
-
\(^^) Ah, that is a pleasant surprise to hear as not many Simmers did enjoy Sims Medieval as they weren't used to RPG standards being applied to a life simulator. So, are you planning on getting the new expansion pack (Seasons)?
-
Yes, of course.
-
Any thoughts about it at all? Excited for any features like the ability of snowed in days, vacation, aliens, skating..?
*Wow, this sounds like an interview.*
-
*It does, lol*
Well, I think the entire point of the expansion is just awesome :D
-
Alot of others have been complaining about aliens as it is "not realistic" and argued that the "Supernatural" expansion wasn't necessary. what is your opinion on that?
Aliens have came with features including destruction (meteors, laser beams) to hit the Sim worlds, traveling with UFOs, males being impregnated like in the precessing Sims 2 game (one of the things people are complaining about), and super powers!~
-
Well, generally, I don't care about the realism, after all, it's just a game, and I think it adds to the fun.
-
The Sims supernatural doesn't really appeal to me. :*
But hey, was I the only one who was sad to see dogs couldn't hunt the deer in pets? D:
-
Aye, it's all cool, man. 8D
I wasn't disappointed by that feature since the Sims franchise isn't known for that (hunting and such). Besides, I think the ability to hunt with dogs would be great for Sims Medieval but the developers of TSM ceased any work for it.
-
Yes it would. As for Seasons, I got it the day it was released. Oh, I love it when your mom plays the same games you do. :D. xD... Anyways...
We all have that derp Sim, right....? o3o. Gawd, that werewolf father needs to go back to school. He rode a horse backwards and gains skill slooowww (Not a perfectionist) Something wrong with him? LOL
And, I LOVE Supernatural. Personally, the aliens are quite funny. I haven't sighted some yet, and it's funny when the sims, like in Sims 2, can get abducted and come back pregnant with alien babies. (Ah, gotta love strangetown... e.o. I've had a dude come home pregnant with aliens.) Personally, I like the witches best... but I'd love it for the zombies to be a bit... more... zombie-ish? xD
Medieval is awesome, although, The whole quest point deal can get confusing.
As for weather, I've found a cheat....
First, you need to do the code that enables this.. (Shift ctrl c, then type it) testingcheatsenabled true
And shift click the ground, click weather, and your playing god experience is enhanced x10!
Anyone need an easier way to be a millionare without typing 'motherlode' five hundred times? First, make your family, move them in a cheap house, and enable the cheats. The do Shift ctrl c, and type...
familyfunds [insert last name here] [insert amount here. no commas, max is 100,000,000.) Unpause the game and you can afford virtually anything! Even that dream house across the street!
*Jumping everywhere*

@Faith:
bhjdglfsbv. Another sim-fanatic c: !
I got Sims 3 Seasons on the day of release but unfortunately, I haven't been able to touch it at all due to school work and Constanta checking on the forums in FeralHeart and other sites (but I remember being stuck in the Summer..)
In regards to the zombies, I do wish they did act more sluggish but much more like their counterparts in Sims 2 where they more sociable, able to do things and understand what their actions (I can't speak Zombie..), and be able to go to college/jobs (and that expansion pack is coming out soon!~)
Regarding Medieval, I just wished we were able to play the game without needing to be in a quest. Even in an RPG game ,you're usually given a certain extent of freedom.
Attention, simmers!
You are now able to post up content of what is happening within your game (1,2, 3, or Medieval). Also you may place up,
Links to stories done by you or someone else
Youtube videos, and
CC.
However, if you're linking CC, it should not be for The Sims Resource and not be a direct link to where you can download it..

Never played this game, but from what I heard,it's good.I did played Sims2 on facebook.I like it because it has quests and all that however I'm dissapointed because for most of the quests you need to have SimCash(real money) in order to complete them. It's also the energy bar that goes down way too fast and this way.....you can't really enjoy the game. But I always wanted to play sims 2/3 Pets.Looks fun!
-
I play Sims 3. Love it. I currently have four expansion packs. Pets, World Adventures, Supernatural, and Showtime. I'm getting Ambitions soon though. ^^
Darn someone posted about cheats already XD. A really nice one though is when you making a new household (we all know how to open the cheat bar right?) type in 'freerealestate' then after that, buy a cheap house (accept but don't start playing yet) then after that all of the lots (even the really expensive ones should be available to you to buy. Go ahead and buy the one and go ahead and start playing. You now own this epic mansion or whatever it is you bought. ;D. Another I often use is after using 'testingcheatsenabled true' you shift click on the mailbox then you push 'all happy' and then shift click on the mailbox again and click 'make needs static' it's really nice because then your sims never get hungry, or have to go to the bathroom, they can work out without getting fatigued, they never get smelly, and they are always happy. This way you can focus completely on skills, though if your sim is employed you do still have to go to work You can also ctrl+click on moodlets to delete them, and ctrl+click and drag the bars under other sims to make them your best friends right away.

*Poke* 3 days without a post, come on c:
The first sims, "The sims"
Was quite funny in the way you could set your house on fire, with a firework, ahhh, Good ol' days
-
Such a lovely game it is but no one has even voted it. :c
-
skdfskdhf Had to wipe my computer due to problems with starting up Windows. Anyways, tomorrow I start re-installing and re-downloading everything I had.... That'll be fun..
Or should I do it on a weekend?
Anyways, nothing to share about Sims except for University.
I have No words for it. Speechless. The trailer brought me back, of course, with the cheer and the streaking(o.e). But, never the less, there might be one little snag.
Young adults. Yes, i love to make the parents young to they don't die on the kids. Well, too bad for me now, unless I want my college people to have kids already... *Derpface*
Happy Simming!
-
The Sims 3 University trailer is out?! Aye, thank you for the reminder,r Faith. I will have to double post with a notice regarding it with information about it too.
However, regarding your computer's unfortunate dilemma, I would recommend during bits and pieces of it daily so it won't be much an a haul if you have other plans worked out. (And it will be horrible if you had CC!)
I always have my simmers either be in the Young Adult~Adult stage if they're going to have children but the longest file I have w/ a sim-created family that was originally two elders with two adopted children. However, the grandfather outlived the wife and the children (now young adults) are caring for him as he is thankfully eating ambrosia!

Hmm.. :3

At last, University ~ I have to say I really like The Sims series. I've never played the very first one, but I was introduced to it in their second generation a few year back. I was addicted to it for months, still am. As soon as Sims 3 came out, I was "must-have-or-I'll-go-mad" mode. What I really would like to do is collect each expansion of The Sims 2 for the PC since you hardly see any these days for personal nostalgia. As for The Sims 3, I'll do the same - least until The Sims 4 comes around since the third is still relatively available.
And it is fun, lol. It really doesn't matter which Sims game you start with 2 or 3, both are equally fun, just with the third, you actually play as the pet too and finding The Sims 2 in general would probably be a find since the generation has changed. Although, they did put expansions together with the Pets for The Sims 2, so maybe your chances of finding it that way would be best other than finding the one expansion on its own.
-
I played them all. Best thing to do is lock your sims in the house and set it on fire >:3
