Post by: SoulRevenge on August 06, 2012, 08:48:21 pm
Ello' there, I'm on the hunt for 3-Dimmenisial Modelling Porgrams. I perfer them to be free all together, but demos works for me X3.
i currently have Blender and Google Sketchup, so don't bother linking me to those.
Any help would be appreciated! =D

you can try AC3D, but i do not recommend it because the only free part is the 14 day trial.
thats pretty much all i have got.

Blender is fine for a lot of uses. But if you aren't satisfied with it, what sort of functions are you looking for in other modeling programs?

@Abigail
I'm looking for something abit easier to understand and use then Blender,something with abit more options. With Blender I can only really make simple things, like buildings or sorta awkward looking trees. .w.

Oh yes, and please note I'm fine with anything, even if it's not copatable with OGRE mesh, or if there isn't even a plugin for it. I just want to hone my skills abit x3

Oh! if you want to make trees, you can try ngPlant! you can convert to .obj then re convert it to .mesh in blender!

You can also enable the curves addon (no download required) for blender. Then you can have the option to add->curves->tree.  Make sure you have the toolbar enabled to the left (or enable it by pressing "t"). and you can modify it to customize your tree. Enable bevel and increase the value in order to change your tree from a curve to a 3d object. Leaves are in the options as well, but they act as if they are a separate object, a child of the tree.

Yes sadly it has, i cant tell you how much this is, but as i know there are free softwares out the web that can reduce them for you. I did that with blender, its a standart script the software uses. An average amount of faces are 1000 - 2000
