I was trying to change my name to FeatherFlightBCD. Before it was FeatherFlight F.
I tried changing my name and it was like,
'You can't put spaces before or after your name!'
But their wasn't any spaces.
So I tried re-typing it and the same thing came up.
So I restarted FH and the same thing came up.
???
-
Be sure to completely clear out the name when typing
you might want to try reinstalling, i feel like there was a quicker fix to this, (generally restarting the game) but seeing as that's not working. perhaps try changing the name of a different character (or new one) and see if the problem is spread there also
-
OK so...
Tried it with a new character and it worked perfectly fine.
Tried it with an old character and it worked.
Tried it with Featherflight...
Didn't work again...
Tried renaming her 'lalala' (xD) didn't work.
Cleared out her whole name and re-typing it... didn't work.
:/
Tried running as admin, didn't work...
would re-installing everything make me lose it all? D:

Weird I went through this same exact thing just yesterday when I tried editting a characters name. Same thing like you said there were no spaces in the name anywhere and I kept getting that error message. No matter how many time I would exit the editor and reenter I could not rename that character. I'm not to fussy about changing the name of that character but I do find this weird... maybe it's just another weird bug on Feral Heart.
I never tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling to see if maybe possibly that would fix that problem. If you do that though you have to back up any custom mods you downloaded etc, (I believe) presets & maps have to be backed up too I could be wrong but just as a precaution... basically any extras that you downloaded separately from the official FH download you need to back up some how.
-
wouldn't it be as easy as to recreate the character?
-
wouldn't it be as easy as to recreate the character?
True but when I tried that yesterday I got that error message still. I just kind of gave up on it since I didn't want to have to go through all the effort of saving files and uninstalling/reinstalling FH. It's worth a try though.
-
I tried it again today and the same thing came up ;-;
Is that going to go away eventually or no... Dx
I'll try it again later I guess, and I don't want to re-create the charrie because she's in a clan.
If I re-install, can I just copy all the files on the first one I made and move it to the new one? That sounds a a a lot easier and I don't think it would make a difference... xD
-
Zis' message usually pops up when you've reached your limit to characters, I don't think you'll need to re-install x3.
-
So I just have to delete a couple charries then?
I don't use a few of them xD
-
Mhmmm, this fixed my problem when I did it x3.
-
Dx Deleted two characters total... still didn't work.
Dx Deleted four characters total... still didn't work.
Dx Deleted six characters total... still didn't work.
I deleted six characters in total and it didn't work.
I've got seven characters left.
:/
-
Hmmmm .O.
Try re-installing like everyone else suggested, I guess deleting doesn't always work TT_TT.
And yus, you can move your folder somewhere else and then replace your existing one after re-installing x3.
-
OK! Trying that now...
the results are...
O-O
It... didn't work?
I copied and replaced ALL the files...
UGGGHHH Dx
I'm never gonna be able to change the name, am I?
TT^TT
-
Does it still say 'You cannot have spaces before or after your name!' when you try to create it? /Late/
-
You mean a new character?
Nope.
-
Then does it say anything at all?
Or did you delete that character. /StillLate/
-
It doesn't say anything. It lets you play with the new character perfectly fine.
I deleted the new character xD not the one I'm trying to fix.
-
Thats what I am talking about, the one you're trying to fix.
Sorry, I should be more clear. /Latesmack/
-
Oh, then no, I didn't delete her yet.
I'm seriously trying to avoid deleting her then re-creating her because she's in a clan and I'm not sure if the leader of the clan is going to come on today to give me an invite for the new charrie I make of Feather. (Especially because she's deputy of the clan :3)
I just hope this bug goes away. I'm starting to think it won't. Dx
-
If you re-make her, you can always send a joining request too the group.
That way, the leader can accept you with you having to be on the same time.
-
I know.. but that seems to be the only way so, I guess I'll do that.
RESULTS ARE IN AND...
Feather is now created. >:3
Again.
-
Congratulations. ~ Cx
I suppose this is, slightly, solved.
-
xD yeah.
Thanks everyone who helped me with this!
-
This is a very odd glitch, indeed. Oo
I will mention this to the other staff to see if there's anything that can be done about it. But yeah, it seems that deleting and recreating the character is a pretty simple - but annoying - fix. Glad you were able to resolve this; I'll go ahead and lock this now.
