What I'm I doing wrong?
-
Have any of the object files or components for the map been deleted? Sometimes this happens when a file in the object group is missing.
-
You mean deleted rocks and stuff? Yes.
-
In the map, or the .mesh files? If in the map, t'should have no effect on exporting. If a .mesh file, 'ere you have the problem.
-
I got a little test map to go but now I can't find it in the folders.
What is a Mesh. File?
-
They are showing up now but when I open them it takes me here,
http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xml/redir.asp?Ext=fhm (http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xml/redir.asp?Ext=fhm)

A .mesh file is an object file. Together with .material files, they make up the rocks and scenery in-game. x3 And, test map? o: If you downloaded it from the web (and it's in .fho, .fhm, .fhs format) you might want to put it in Exports. If it's a folder with a .map file, place it in Terrains.
These folders are in C:\FeralHeart\media.
And, don't try to open them -- the game reads them automatically. But, if you haven't deleted any, there's no need to worry about that. c:
-
So now that I got them how do I get them in so others can you on it?
-
Hmm? Got what, exactly? Can *what* you on it? If it's possible, maybe you could provide a screenshot or further describe what you mean. o-o
-
Now that I got them on my folders how can a download them so they are public?
Also, thank you for being so helpful.
-
Ooh. To make a map public, you pretty much just make a .zip with the map files and upload it. cx The map files are found in the C:\FeralHeart\exports folder. If you don't have an Exports folder, that could've been the cause of the failure earlier as well.
And, no problem.
-
How do I upload it?
-
You can go to a file sharing site (I recommend www.2shared.com (http://www.2shared.com) or www.mediafire.com (http://www.mediafire.com)), and upload them there (the zip file with the map in it, of course). Then, just post the link over at the Maps section if you want to announce it. c: Don't forget to include screenies in your thread if you make one.
-
Ok I did it. Do I need Administration link, Download Link or both?
-
The administration link is for you to delete the file or edit it's description, etc. The one you use for distribution is just the good ol' download link.
-
So I use this?
http://www.2shared.com/file/DiEVm_PY/WaterMill.html (http://www.2shared.com/file/DiEVm_PY/WaterMill.html)
-
Mhm. c: And, you got the right file in too. You're set to go!
-
How do people get in though? I am asking so I can get in without using the test lion.
-
Taking it you set the 'Has Portal' checkbox to Yes on the map maker, there should be a entry to it over at Cape. ~ If it doesn't work, try changing the map name or enabling that option.
-
What is the cape? If it is on a map I don't have it. I am stuck with only FH+ because my stupid school computer doesn't block that.
-
Cape of Distant Worlds or an equivalent is included in FH+. o: It should be lurking somewhere in the Endless Plains. c:
-
I am stuck in unending Blackness when I am not in map maker.
-
Does this happen in the map, or just when you pick a character?
-
It is normal while looking at my wolves/lions but the map is just blackness
-
Have you always used FeralHeart+? Try making a new character. What happens?
-
Nothing. Still blackness.
-
Oh... I think I know what's happening. You're spawning in the Lonely Cave, a map not included with FeralHeart+. Since you don't have/can't use the normal FeralHeart, what you can do is add the Lonely Cave. Go to media\terrains\fhmaps in your FeralHeart+ folder and place this file in it:
http://www.2shared.com/file/gyaFO7L5/fhLonelyCave.html (http://www.2shared.com/file/gyaFO7L5/fhLonelyCave.html)
The floor and objects will be black, but you should have the portal to Cape of Distant Worlds there, as well as a good spawnpoint.
-
How do I get it in the folder?
-
Simply drag and drop it into the folder. c:
-
Then I get an internet shortcut?
-
Oh. You need to download the file first. Then place it in the folder. Let me give you a direct link...
http://dc194.2shared.com/download/gyaFO7L5/fhLonelyCave.fhm?tsid=20120902-032647-a5e0e135 (http://dc194.2shared.com/download/gyaFO7L5/fhLonelyCave.fhm?tsid=20120902-032647-a5e0e135)
Download that and put it in media/terrains/fhmaps.
-
It won't drag in there. I can put stuff in the downloads but can't drag them back out.
-
Well that's strange. Can you provide a screenshot of this?
-
Is this what you need?
-
Ah. Well, that's not your downloads folder ouo' Right-click the files you downloaded in the little window, and click 'Open File Location'. Find fhLonelyCave.fhm there (not fhLonelyCave(2).fhm, delete that.) and drag it to fhmaps.
-
I am not in blackness now but all the holes say map not found
-
Even the one that says 'Cape of Distant Worlds'? o:
-
There is two of them. Both have no words
-
Well, let me give you another map... Do the same as with Lonely Cave. I'm going to piece back a normal FH with you, or at least part of it.
Here you go, Ficho Tunnel: http://dc98.2shared.com/download/SWPu9rZE/fhFichoTunnel.fhm?tsid=20120902-040226-23203203 (http://dc98.2shared.com/download/SWPu9rZE/fhFichoTunnel.fhm?tsid=20120902-040226-23203203)
When you have this, what you can do is go into it and head over to Bonfire, which should be in a portal lurking inside Ficho. There, you'll be able to play your normal FH+ experience, and access Ficho Caverns, WaterMill, Endless Plains and such. c:
-
I found The cape
-
Good to know. c: Does everything work fine now, or is there still something you need to know?
-
i am a little laggy but that'll pass soon. Thank you so much for helping me!
-
To help is why I'm here. x3 No need for thanks. Good to hear it's all working now, and if you ever need any help, feel free to post it here or shoot me a message.
